I'm not a rabbit breeder but like learning about rabbits and genetics. After hearing all the information regarding agouti genes and modifiers and bands, etc, I think if I ever do raise rabbits for color, I will stick with White. :)

Ok, so I found your channel and I’m liking it, a lot of good info and I like the family vibe, I’m gonna subscribe. My buck is purebred Cali, my NZ doe is blue from a blue mom and broken dad, anybody have any ideas on what I can expect from the breeding as far as coloring? I also need to try to pull a cal doe and a NZ buck back out of their breedings eventually with some line breeding to get more breeders without paying the crazy prices on rabbits here right now.

Many possibilities depending on both recessive. U might get pointed agouti, self, tort, agouti, REW..

i have 2 rabbits one is rex rabbit and the other is a hybrid of new zealand white and rex. is it possible for them to have a new zealand red offspring?

No, to get a New Zealand of any color you would need to breed two New Zealands. Crossing a Rex and a New Zealand (or any other breed) only results in crossbreds that are not pure to either breed. As for whether you would get a red or not, it is hard to say without knowing the colors of the parents, but I would say it is doubtful at best.

Yes, if she carries one gene for otter (the tan pattern, "at"), then roughly 50% otters would be expected. If she carries two copies of "at," then they'll likely all be otter.
