@Uranium_wafflesaretasty I looked it up- apparently they're 11! So I was like okay garu will be a kid and not wanna get with pucca at 11 because yknow....KIDS. So in the adult au, I made garu try and break out of that cycle of running from pucca because he does love her, but its difficult for him because he's so used to it!

An interesting yet canon fact that whenever Garu turned red, it's not because he's mad but it's actually a blush, or out of embarrassment. So yes, idk wtf the production team think it would be a good thing to animate Garu reaction to be like that because it was hard to tell from there. But yes, the production team did confirm it's just him being embarassed or blushing mess.
