Rabbits should not have long teeth if they do that means that their diet is wrong or due to medical reasons. Rabbits should have enough things to chew on to stop their teeth from growing this much. Hopefully this rabbit is doing fine now. To rabbit owners, pls take your rabbit to the vet and not do this at home and remember to give your furbun loads of hay

Some rabbits have a condition where the teeth grows in the wrong direction so they won’t get filed down when they eat . I had a rabbit with this condition and spent a fortune at the vet getting his teeth filed down when they were too long . Not saying this is the case in this video but just want to point out that sometimes there’s nothing the owner can do . My rabbit also refused to eat any kind of hay which didn’t help the case .

Rabbit teeth doesn't stop growing.. that's why it's important to give them unlimited grass or hay if possible since that's the main part of their diet. Also give them chew toys. I give my rabbits coconut shells for them to chew and play with. Just be sure to remove all the coconut meat coz that's bad for them.

Improper care , an injury, or Their is a genetic condition that can cause this, I've had to treat a set of twin buns(bro&sis). However this bun doesn't have it.. and I had to trim them every 2wks.. my vet did their first trim at 2mos old and show me how to correctly do it. So I didn't have to bring them in so much.. they mainly treated dogs and cats and the visits were very traumatic for them.. vet said that in my case it was kinder for me to do it at home. Especially because it had to be done so much..

@@savannahbutler5973 Yeh...but I thought bunny who had fast growing teeth should be fed with thicker, coarser hay with lots of fibre to weat down their teeth.... like first cut timothy or orchard. And usually, even if eating does not naturally wear their teeth down, I figure something had to be done before it gets to the length like in the video...I can't imagine how painful it would have been if the teeth were impaling somewhere and the teeth inside too and the fact that the bunmy would not have eaten at all...it's just...I just hoped something would have been done sooner was my point, I guess 😔 Ohh aww man...the twin buns still here? 🥺

I can’t believe we live in a day and age where people proudly post themselves abusing and neglecting animals and preforming medical procedures on them with tools they have laying around. The fact that one they let it get this bad shows clear neglect, two instead of taking the animal to get proper treatment they just did it at home, and three they filmed it and posted it. I hope someone is able to rescue this animal because the owner can’t provide basic care if they did this rabbits teeth wouldn’t be this bad and they wouldn’t have let it go for this long. The rabbit is clearly missing things like proper hay and chew toys which is rabbit 101. And the simple fact is it’s not the the owner doesn’t know better they just don’t give a single fuck about this animal. It doesn’t take a expert to look at this bunny and go hey maybe their teeth are too long let take them to the vet. The fact that it’s teeth were almost inside it’s nose is appalling this also means they’re probably in gi status rn because they can’t eat properly with their teeth like that. And it’s the owners fault and they should be ashamed of themselves because it’s disgusting someone can get a animal that depends on them to meet their basic needs and the owner does nothing and sadly this rabbit will probably be subjected to spending it’s whole life with this pos.
