Wow, Rabea! Your use of various scales to break out of ruts clarifies and reinforces what I've been trying for the past couple years. My solution after 65 years of playing was to buy a classical guitar and take classical lessons. Until I started deliberately practicing in modes I never used I would find myself falling in the same pattern over and over no matter the key. Very clear.

I think the biggest thing for small bands is to have the same vision. If you want to grow, be ready to work for it, sacrifice and keep the same goal all together all through out. If one guy doesn't want to tour or invest all his time like everyone else it won't work. If you all just want to have fun and only play local that's totally cool, get really good record an EP, and then get a cheap residency at a small bar or something. But every single member has to have the same vision.

Hi Bea, I found you through my friend Jay Parmar a while back when he plugged the Toska album on his channel (Silos' been on near infinite repeat since I bought it). You're a breath of fresh air and personable. I tried to do something with metal-ambient/ambient-metal about a decade ago and nobody seemed to get it so I walked away from it. Your music is really inspiring me to have another go. Unlike a lot of ambient guitar that is just normal guitar drenched in reverb/delay, you seem to be doing something much more interesting. Look forward to checking out more of your stuff. Thanks!

Hi Rabea. I most certainly feel that the Gibson guitar you’ve bought from Norm has broadened your melodic horizons, almost to a kind of “90’s Hans Zimmer” feel (try the Days of Thunder OST) , and i just love that. A question: when searching for a certain tone, do you find important to “oversurround” yourself with that guitar sound, and kind of “clean” your hearing to be more oriented to that tone? When recreating a certain guitar artist sound more accurately, i always struggle to “jump right through “ the next tone, as my ears become comfortable with the previous one. This happens to you too? Cheers from Nuno’s homeland. 🇵🇹
