I don't understand how everyone complains about the mid controls and feeling so cramped. I'm 6 foot and I didn't feel cramped at all. Hip and knee angles are almost exactly the same as sitting on a desk chair, and people sit at their desks for 6 hours a day.

True , i am 6 1 (185cm) and its all good for me . I guess cruiser riders are used to front foot controls and they feel weird , on the other hand me coming from a naked bikes it feels super comfortable for me and again i'm 6ft1

What about touring? I'm 6'1" and recently sat on a 2018 Roadster Sportster. Looking for my first bike. My dad said I looked too hunched over, with my knees too high, but I guess mid controls can feel different on a Sportster vs a Dyna with mini apes.

I am a Sportster and Japanese bike rider. I really am very pleased with the Sportster, mine being a solid mounted 2003. IF I were to go to a Big Twin, I am quite sure that the Street Bob is the bike I would choose. There are a lot of things to like about it. I like that it is the lowest priced big twin and the fact that it has gotten lighter while Sportster have gotten heavier. This brings the Street Bob closer to the weight of the Sportsters instead of immensely heavier. The mid pegs would be much to my liking also as I feel that control is better than with forward controls. The fact that I am 5'9" tall would make me a good fit on the Street Bob.
@RabidHedgehog
@RabidHedgehog 6 жыл бұрын
ironcast go ride one and I bet it'll be a perfect fit for sure! With the new frame it's much lighter, more nimble, and more fun for sure than it's older counter part. And if they have a Dyna and this ride them back to back and let me know.

A great review. Crisp camera clarity. As well as very clear audio. I couldn't get over just how clear the highway was. Where are all the cars? Traffic accidents. And subsequent congestion? That was very odd to see. Anyways, a solid review. Thanks for taking us along.

You're welcome! This was the older GoPro setup and I have switched recently to a new Sony FDR which can be seen for the first time on the Scout Bobber review that I think is a bit clearer even. And sometimes in Oklahoma we have this random no traffic thing happen still . It is nice for real.

Good one dude. Shame the rear brake isn't all that. I'd say it's gotta be the weakest point of my '15 Street Bob. I'd classify it as "absolutely sucking." ABS would hopefully solve it.

I’ll be new to riding, will be taking the MSF course, looking at the, scout bobber twenty, Iron1200 and this one, which is the bike that I really like. Would this be a good first bike?, if you are conscious about the power it makes and ride safe, would it be something a beginner could handle?, Excellent video 👍
@RabidHedgehog
@RabidHedgehog 4 жыл бұрын
The funny thing about this segment and power is that although there are differences, like the Scout's higher horsepower numbers, or the higher torque of the Street Bob, there really is not much difference in feel like in the sport segments. These are tame and easy going type machines so it would not matter which you chose. It would only be a preference of size, handling, comfort.

I am guessing an 18 maybe an eh on the brakes but 19s seem to be a bit better as it's sharp then sponge vs. the all sponge of 18. So they may have worked on it. And yes it's good for your height.

Be sure to have a good mechanic on standby if you were to get one. Evos are not supported by the dealer network any longer except oil filters and oil and that is literally about it. Also make sure that if you are to get one look at all the seals and ask for service records as a bike that old the fork seals would be getting old and the oil breaking down. Check the brake lines and fluid and make sure they are not corroded and that the fluid is not full of water to be sure it was maintained. Check inside the fuel tank! Ethanol fuels rusts out these tanks really badly and eats the seals out of the carb.

I test rode it last week and like you said, the back brake didn't even work. I wouldn't buy this bike for that reason and the so called mid controls. I'm thinking of getting the Indian Scout instead. I will buy a new bike this year and it wont be this one as much as I love Harley's. I have the 2017 Street Glide that I love and was wanting to up grade my second bike which is a 2012 Bonnie. The only one that I will trade for right now is the Indian Bobber. Sorry Harley. You lose another customer.
@RabidHedgehog
@RabidHedgehog 6 жыл бұрын
Johnny Striple love the Bobber from Indian. Rode it two weeks ago. No video as temps were literally too low for GoPros. It was 18 degrees! But they still ran the demo truck. One thing on it, the seat. I wish you sat into the bike, with something that quick you want a seat like the Night Rod where it's low and into the frame. The Bobber seat is kind of small and flat and under acceleration and a proper bump in the road you'll land on the fender.
