I'm here because i've recently been bitten by the goldwing bug. Nice review. Experienced rider here.4:00-5:00 rolls to stop sign. Acknowledges he needs to get used to bike. Allows car to pass as not to rush himself out in front of it. Gravel notation. Excessive wrist snapping while shifting at first. Confidence increase in turning.4:00;4:40 and 8:00. You can be seen getting used to it by breaking down your video!! Nice bike, Good rider.

I ride a 2012 2 tone red/silver Goldwing...... a dream to ride, I've put 87,000 km on it (54000 miles) in 5 years and just LOVE IT. It doesn't take very long to get used to all them buttons, like you said they are well labelled.

I still believe that if you hit the right sequence the car that just cut you off would have a missile take it out... Okay that is a bit of wishful thinking, but seriously it is a well thought out bike and I cannot think of anything wrong with it. It is a nice and comfortable ride.

Loved your review. In particular, your first ride of a Goldwing response:) Priceless. Even though it’s winter in Minnesota, I just purchased a 2005 30th Anniversary Goldwing with 21k miles. I can’t wait for the snow to melt!!!! Watching your video just wet my appetite all the more. Thx.....nice job

My good friend just sold his new 2018 HD Street Glide and purchased this exact year and color in your video with only 4000 miles on it for $10k!! What a bargain...He liked his HD alot but once he test drove the GoldWing he had to have one...The HD was 25K+ new and he sold it for near new price and seriously lowered his bank payment on top of it all. I took it for a ride over the weekend and I am highly impressed with it myself...Now I gotta sell my cruiser and step up to the ultimate Gold Wing...Also this bike is very well protected from a simple tip over with the guards it has..He purposely laid it down in my yard to show me how it sets and how easy it was to stand it back up...I'm sold...I'm just going to give my bike to my son as he is ready to go to a bigger bike and hopefully find a great used deal on this generation of Gold Wing...I like the older Gen more than the newest one,,but I can't say without riding one...But I don't want to spend 30K either, nor would I want the dual clutch DCT transmission..luckily still available with a normal clutch and shifter...I was so impressed with how smoothly and quickly it accelerates! Instant torque and take off power..Well I wrote a book...lol..oh well.
@RabidHedgehog6 жыл бұрын
You will not be disappointed with the wing for a long time to come and in some respects it can be the last bike you ever buy they are that good. And I agree you could write a novel on how good the Gold Wing really is and that is after a short ride even.

Beauty is a piece of machinery that changes your perception of what can be and what is.....I hear it happening as you ride that bike. The Japanese people are amazing motorcycle builders. I have a 1985 Yamaha Venture Royale and oooof.......buying it for $2500, it is stunning electronically (stereo, cruise...etc) and so, so smooth and powerful. Heck even the saddle bags just turn key unclip right off the side of the bike and have handles on them like luggage?? Amazing. The Wing is for sure the top of the food chain and you're beautiful natural reaction solidified a Wing's place in my garage. Thanks! Oh....and very appreciative for the detail, ACCURATE (not opinion) options description/walk around at the beginning....very necessary.

I always invite people to have a seat on my 2002 GL1800. first reaction is "Oh My God, this feels great!"...The biggest problem is that once you get one , it kind of ruins everything else for you. Top this off with the fact that there's no bike better for sharing the riding experience with a lady or your kid. One for these days they will ad a 6th gear or a DCT. When they do that is when I'll spend whatever it takes to get the last bike I'll ever want/need.
@RabidHedgehog8 жыл бұрын
I agree. So I kept it short.... and slow enough for my friend to stay up with me... cause the though crossed my mind to steal it. If I get a full touring setup it's at the top.

Nice review. Now for my my grips I guess. I have never rode one first off. But just looking at the bike I think it is way to busy. By the time I would be hitting all of those buttons I would surely crash into something? But I would like to try to ride one now that you did just to see what it feels like. Thanks and Ride Safe!
@RabidHedgehog8 жыл бұрын
It does seem busy, but everything is nicely labeled where you can just glance and go. also being right off the left and right sides of the tank it's really easy to navigate and such on the fly. I was surprised it was easy despite the way it looks.

@RabidHedgehog8 жыл бұрын
+Michael Harrison Harley's at this time cannot touch this thing. Not even close in terms of how refined the ride is and the smoothness and power delivery. This thing can also out turn them as well all day long. Suspension travel is much higher than Harley as well with over 4 inches in the back and 5.5 up front. It is the touring bike to go to for sure.

@RabidHedgehog8 жыл бұрын
+Michael Harrison I like Indians but they still have the characteristic V-twin vibes that may wear on a rider for the long term while this thing is just wow.... Like mad smooth. And yes it is very USS Enterprise in control scheme as there are buttons and switches and the touchscreen navi and such Vs. the Indian which wins in the simplicity category. But I am willing to learn few extra buttons for the ability to add miles to my day.
