The residents of Rabo de Peixe are the ones that should take action. Such a beautiful coast and they ruin it. Very sad. It's good you're bringing awareness of the problem. Hope they clean it up.

Please don't blame the locals when you're not aware of the full situation. The poorer the people, the worst the scenario gets. People in Rabo de Peixe are simple, they didn't have much studies, and they mostly live from the Ocean and from what land gives them. And they should be rightfully payed for their services as fishermen or farmers. A economic sector must be self sustained and not depend on subsidies. The majority of this people is receiving subsidies to stay at home and do nothing. Of course, that creates psicological problems associated with a lack of purpose in life. Education in places like this is not expectacular too. So people have no ambition of becoming something else... it is a very complex problem. We should take care of people, so that people take care of the environment. But attention - taking care of people does not mean giving subsidies all the time!

If your livelihood depends upon the environment, then you don’t pollute the ocean that’s putting food on the table. Porto ,in Lagoa , is a fishing dependent town and it doesn’t look like this. You don’t need a college education to take care of where you live. That’s the locals, mattresses, cabinets, old toilets, crazy.

Looks more like industrial and construction waste versus residential garbage. The junta should clean it up install cameras and impose fines as well as designate a dump site . Rabo de Peixe vamos la voces teem mais orgulho do que esta nogeira.

Hello Claudio great video.. people let us open our eyes … our islands have many problems and situations.. with all respect Rabo de peixe has always been the black sheep for Sao Miguel. Hard working people but it’s always been a complicated town. I am going to give the people that live there a benefit of a doubt that if they have any pride they will get together and clean up their town. But they need to get paid to do it LOL. Let’s have faith cause they will not be on Netflix anymore after this lol. 😂 Great video 👍.

OH MY GOD, we are so disappointed with the residents of Rabo de Peixe how can they allow this to happen and be part of it. Portuguese people are known for their cleaniness.SOMEONE take the initiative and get the authorities involved!!!This is not only a hygiene matter but environmental.
