We gave five popular crackers to our pet raccoon Piper to see how she likes them! Cheeto joined in on the action too, but his sophisticated palette only approved of one of the crackers (watch to the end to see which one he liked!)

Me too! Love how he needed to wash the crackers. So cute how he can get that flat wheat thin off the counter without using a thumb (because he doesn't have one), that's talent! They used to fish in rivers and would get shellfish and fish close to shore. Their native habitat was river beds before Europeans came and America was built up and they had to adapt to live by people. Japan has an issue with them affecting the shellfish industry. They have no natural predators there and were brought as pets and let go because they are not usually pets. The population exploded and they impact the industry because they can eat non stop.

Theres raccoons that used to go in our backyard every night and we often would feed them leftovers, we noticed they like noodles the most out of everything we give them when we have leftovers :) and they’re super used to seeing people around too, you can walk right outside and they will just stand there next to you, one even brought her babies on to the lawn so they could get some food too. We named all the raccoons :D

The raccoon understands the camera and wants human hands. I feed the birds, squirrels and rats nuts and they all want to live inside with me. The squirrels love to climb the screen door and jump around and do acrobatic stunts for me. If I put out a large amount of nuts they will stop fighting over the nuts and just hang out and eat nuts together! The rats have this really complex language. I have been practicing martial arts for 35 years and I have been studying animal movements for a long time.
