Race Against Time! _ Only 4 Hours to Metal Detect this 1690’s House on 12 Acres!

This week we gotta get a little giddy-up in our step, as we only have 4 hours to metal detect a 12 acre 1690 house property. Now we are going back next week for an all day hunt at this same location, but this week we're hoping to find the hot spots where heavier concentrations of old items might be found. Even in this initial scouting day we still manage to pull some real winners from the ground and can't wait to get back on it for a full day next week!

I love seeing what you find on home sites. Be it old or modern homes. People forget that even newer homes, the property was there all along. My own house was built in 1968. This past weekend I was playing with my detector in the yard and dug up a 3 cent nickel from the 1860s.

I know that they made pocket knives since around 1800, because I dug one on a Napoleon Battle site in Spain… at the time I didn’t believe they could be that old but a little research revealed that some of Napoleon’s troops carried them into conflict….
