It's supposed to be on a mountain but the system isn't powerful enough to render the mountain! If you watch other videos of the arcade version, you'll see it

@@eleven10motogarage Probably for the better The Amiga and Atari ST ports have the mountain and it runs them as badly as the SNES port

@@Bloodreign1 have you seen the Snes version of this game though? It's a complete slideshow, 2 fps at most. But I agree that dissing either system solves nothing

@@Bloodreign1 this version is fairly bad compared to the arcade version and the port for that one type of computers (I can’t remember which computers it was on, but it was a solid port), but even as someone who likes the snes more I have to admit that the snes version of this game was worse. Nowadays there’s a hack to drastically improve the snes version using the SA-1 chip but it’s unofficial and therefore doesn’t count.

It's the only port that would have a decent framerate until the PS1/Saturn ports. (Except MS-DOS, but it's heavily dependent on your rig at the time)
