The rich only buy new cars and since the middle class broke off the majority of people look for cars with low fuel consumption, money saver cars, economical. So used second-hand cars with lots of horsepowers stay on showroom floors. Only when the price is really ridiculously low some folks who are themselves car mechanics buy it
