I went on my C15 and my brother rode there and back on my 500 Triumph firing on only one cylinder. 240 miles altogether. Moon eyes Coops was the main man at Mallory.

Still with us, Roy? Happy days, I was 15 then and dreaming. Went to my first meeting at Cadwell that year and saw Cooper on his Yamsel thrash Ago and his MV. That Cooper Yamsel was the first one of a kind.....he rarely lost a race on it. Sadly he had it stolen: wonder if it ever re surfaced? Still got the F2 Ducati I bought off you in 84/85. Fancy doing a free engine rebuild for old times sake?....otherwise it will never get done now I'm a pensioner. Shame really. Take care Roy. Alex.

One of my first bike races at aged five. Used to get in free as my mum used to work on the hot dog stand. Moons eyes was the man in those days. I used to buy my road tyres from his business in Derby in the mid.'80s after he retired. He used to have a silver Rolls Royce parked out the back of his shop so must have done OK for himself.

Yes me and the wife were there. Can anyone settle a small disagreement she says Coop was on the Norton I think it was the Seeley Yamaha ( Yamsel). Please make me right for once😁

Kevin - John Cooper rode the nimble Seeley-framed Yamaha 350 twin to a deserved victory. The fairing is standard Yamaha pattern. Mallory Park is a short circuit less suited to heavy 4-strokes like the Norton. Coops was The Man there! I believe he even beat Ago on the Triumph triple at a later Race of The Year there... 🙂 Happy Days...

happy days, I remember blasting down from the grim north/east on my moped. took me 6 hours to get there riding flat out at 45mph. Next week I fitted a turbo.

Was that the camera angle or was that an uphill bump start?

So even back in 1970 some guys wearing full face helmets. When were they introduced ?
@timcolder27893 жыл бұрын
Bell first produced full face motorcycle helmets in 1968 and they were also the pioneers of full face helmets for F1.(I think Jackie Stewart was the first F1 champion to use one in 1969).

hi i dont know what the music is, when the original film was transferred to video, the company that did it thought it would be nice instead of grumbling motobikes engines, what a dick he turned out tobe. we have tried to remove the music but todate it keeps coming back, sorry you will have to enjoy
