These Tapit Horses are still suspect at 10f. But he has been impressive so far. Looks like Frosted's Baby Brother.

+John Kaufmann That very much seems to depend on their running style. The headcase Tapits who are speed freaks (which are all too common) tend to be the more suspect at 10f. Mohaymen does not seem to be one of them.

One more thing...ZULU made his stakes debut in the Fountain Of Youth? Larry Collmus said MOHAYMEN was pulling away? No he didn't. ZULU was a clear 2nd and never lost an inch of ground 16th pole to the wire. That is misleading.

This is not to knock anybody? Excellent performance by MOHAYMEN in The Fountain Of Youth? It was a short field? And he won like a good horse should? But it is still February and anything can happen. We are 2+ months from The Kentucky Derby. For individuals to say we have our Derby winner already is foolish. Let's see how the chips fall when we get to the major preps.

Definitely can get 9f. I don't think he will get 10f. Especially with a bunch of miler/sprinter influences on the female side.

+Gary Matthies That is the same thing people were saying about Dortmund and Firing Line around this time last year... Im not impressed by the Florida Derby Trail... If you want to get a better idea, see who wins the Arkansas Derby, and then make that decision..

+Gary Matthies I think Mohaymen is a bit green to be a big threat to win the Derby, this year. But watch out for him next year, he could be a threat to win the Triple Crown, which hasn't been done for a whole year, now.
