That was a Coming Out Powerhouse Performance by Exaggerator. When I heard the forecast for an off track? I wondered if Curlin's fondness for a wet track would carry on in his son? Man did it ever!

+Walter Hager I would so enjoy seeing Exaggerator win The Belmont. The win would make up for the Big Brown DNF in 2008, and hopefully someday, Kent shall win a Triple Crown, but a Double would be awesome this year!

I still like Mor Spirit because his strides are so smooth and he looks so relaxed out there, the further he goes, the more he will like it, but no one was about to catch Exaggerator on this day.

There is one issue of concern to me and that is the last 3f were run in 39:51. I am trying to get a gauge on that. It is something u don't want see that final prep. Wood Memorial last 3f a prime example having being contested earlier.

+John Kaufmann Yeah, that's the thing. If there's sloppy conditions then expect Exaggerator to run a powerhouse performance. If the track is fast and not dried out, expect Mor Spirit to run huge. I happen to like Mohaymen, SuddenBreakingNews, and Fellowship in the KY Derby.

As much as I wanted another chance for a Triple Crown today, I am thrilled for Exaggerator with his win at The Preakness. He has a wonderful kick and stamina. Looking forward to Belmont, and his ongoing rivalry with Nyquist, though I must say Exaggerator seems to be the Afleet Alex, or Point Given, we shall see! Congratulations Exaggerator!!!!

Be interesting to see how he runs in a twenty horse field at the Kentucky Derby. I can see him coming on strong down the stretch but no horse has gotten past Nyquist yet. Nyquist gets pissed when a horse tries to pass him. A true front runner. It should be a good derby this year. A lot of solid horses.

+Strange Days The thing about Nyquist is the pedigree for the longer distances, his sire Uncle Mo was a derby favorite in 2012 KY Derby and the favorite for the BC Classic before fading down the stretch. Uncle Mo's sire was Indian Charlie who was also a derby favorite in the1998 KY Derby and faded down the stretch of the derby, I don't see why Nyquist wouldn't do the same.

RedBev59 The dam of Nyquist is bred by Forestry who was a good sprinter and was never effective any further than seven furlongs.

+keithlamontbraggs Even though I understand the connections of Nyquist, wanting him in The Belmont, he has not the stamina for one mile and a half. Nyquist is a good horse, yet he cannot hold off a Curlin colt with such an amazing kick. This is when we look back and wonder, what if Exaggerator had one The Kentucky Derby. Should be an exciting race! The Preakness sure was!

At some point in the race, Exaggerator was behind like 20 lengths. What a closer. Too bad too much traffic at the Derby or else we would be talking Triple Crown today.

+dvanhoose01 This was an impressive win, for sure. I'm picking him for the Derby, though he'll need luck/a good ride to get through the Derby mob. A lot easier getting around/through 8 horses than 19. I don't see Exaggerator winning a Triple Crown. His 9:4-2-1 record isn't anything like the last 5 Triple Crown winners had going into the Derby; he wasn't 2-year-old champion like they all were, or even a short list finalist. My prediction: Exaggerator will win one of the 3 TC races. And pick up part of the purse in one of the other two. But going by history, if there's going to be a TC winner this year, it will be Nyquist.

Nyquist is not better than this horse ....Exaggerator , the jockey must know when to turn him loose , Kent rode a poor race in the Belmont
