Thanks bro! Had this been a trackday, or maybe a race weekend not as a provisional novice, I would have been more inclined to thug it out lol. I wanted a clearer head space for a first race weekend though.

Been there man, done that. I've even tossed in the towl on a fantastic sunny day just because I wasn't feeling it. Yeah, you made the right decision. I see a toy hauler or a truck tent in your future. 😀

I need something! The wife likes to come with me so for now I'm looking at a glamping tent set ups with ac lol. I'm thinking portable ac unit, that can then be used in an enclosed trailer later down the line.

I total my truck in DC while driving from Boston to Homestead in 2021. I rented a truck the next day picked up my trailer from the Tow yard and drove to Homestead and raced. in the beginning of my racing career, I would have turned around. Now I race in the rain, fix bikes at the race and go race. a racing friend explained to drive 20 plus hours and not race is a waste of time and money. Are you planning on racing ASRA too? I was suppose to go to Talladega, but race bikes are ready yet. Good luck this season.

Man that sounds like an a good story to tell! How was the truck totaled, but not the trailer? Was it a mechanical failure of some sort? Yessir, I hear you, I think if I were a seasoned racer, these road bumps probably wouldn't have been as disheartening lol. I agree, anything over 4 hours, I probably would've raced. Thats a huge factor, time and money spent to get to the track. No sir, no ASRA yet, just WERA. I plan on trying Tally again in April, I can't make Roebling in March.

Man I don't blame you, I would've just called it a wrap. I guess that's what Trevor means by the "exotic" town of Munford/Anniston lol. This type of stuff happens on my track weekends everynow and then. I really feel like having a toy hauler/camper would just make life so much easier.

I’m doing my first weekend in a couple weeks at Roebling but the way your weekend went has me nervous lol. I would’ve just sent it!

Main reason I didn't was the wet track lol. The money I spent on accommodations, I definitely didnt want to buy more tires lol. I showed up with two sets to begin with lol. I wish I could make Roebling, but I'll try Tally again in April. Good luck, I hope your first weekend goes much better than mine 😅

Never go against your gut so good call imo Talladega Creekside Resort 20 minute from the track and you can kayak the creek if it rains my friend.

I hear you bro! I definitely wanted to at least do Friday since the trackday and race class were already paid for. One of the benefits of racing is you can choose the day of whether you want to pay to play or not. Trackdays you have pay in advance😅

Yessir, you can race as a mediocre group rider 😅. With that being said, I of course would be more competive if I could run A pace consistently.
