I can remember ALL of these cars! I had them. I also loved the wedge shaped front of the Fire Engines, Tow Truck and Ambulances that no one ever shows in their collections. I, sometimes, wish that I had a few. LOVE THAT DODGE DEORA AND TWINMILL!!! MOPAR VEHICLES!!! I worked for Chrysler Corporation just like my father before me.

Yes, it is a LOT of money! But the success of the Channel has afforded me to purchase these cars. In turn, I will be able to make a video of the original 16 Hot Wheels plus I can do individual features of each model. Thanks =)

The Paddy Wagon is a classic Hot Wheels model. I was talking to my friend Carl, you know, I have a video of his childhood redlines that he still owns, and he said that the Hot Heap was one model that was very popular when he was growing up. He never found one at the stores. So when I took him to a Convention a few years ago, his sole purpose was to acquire the Hot Heap!

Yes, these definitely came to market to take no prisoners. When Mattel decided to come up with a cool product in the diecast cars category, they came out like gangbusters!

Yes, the Spectraflame paint definitely sets the original Hot Wheels apart from the other brands at the time! That's why HWs quickly catapulted into the #1 spot in the diecast category.

This is definitely the big boys territory. Most viewers on my channel are familiar with the $1 stuff but as I do, I want to be able to show as much as possible. I have been collecting since 1998 and I have never been able to spend this kind of money. The success of the Channel has afforded me the opportunity (thanks). In turn, while the cars are obviously mine, I made the purchase for the distinct purpose of providing more content for the Channel. And yes, I was sneezing to the side. Thanks =)

@racegrooves

The axles on the older redlines were thinner and could easily be bent. Modern HWs have thicker axles and are very hard to straighten. There isn't much room in between the body of the cars and the wheels to get a tool in there to straighten out the wheel.

I will probably be a long time before I get to a video showing how to use a wheel-straightening tool. I haven't used one in a long time. I pretty much just put the cars on the track and let them go but if I'm going to use the 'played with' redlines in a future video, I'm going to have to find my old tool and learn how to use it!

I may do a video on my thoughts on opening cases in the store. Does it make you a bad person? All I have to say is don't make a mess. Does it make it right? That is up to you to decide. As for me, it's a game and somebody is going to get the goodies.

I paid 15% less because I got a bulk deal, just so re-state my price, but you are correct. It gives people an idea that these are not $1 cars. As for you liking the metallic appearance of the old redlines along with the redline strip wheels, I like that as well. When the current HWC Redline Club releases a model, many times I prefer their Neo-Classic wheels which look a lot like original redlines. When they put Real Rider rubber tires on some of them, it doesn't look right.
@racegrooves
@racegrooves 12 жыл бұрын
Agreed. The values of redlines have been determined due to the passage of time and rarity. I should not have to worry about the value of these in the future. Even if they drop a bit, most of the value will still be there. People were selling Super Treasure Hunts and many of them could be found for $20. The value of those will definitely be dropping even further - Thanks!

As long as a Seller states that they are customs or restores, then I have no problems with that practice. I wouldn't like to buy off of eBay because to me, Redlines are more of a personal experience that I want to handle the car before I buy it. Pictures are good but when you're spending good money, I would rather buy in person. Besides, I like to roll my cars around and you can't tell if it rolls straight from just pictures =)

I like the Eldo's too. Big pieces of metal =) As for the current Boulevard selections that you seen at Zeller's, the Boulevard series is very well executed! Great card art, excellent paint and wheels on the models. There are just a few models that I think that they should not have included in the series but even those are still nicely presented.

In a sense, the value of these cars has been set. There won't be much fluctuation on the values because their rarity has been determined. If you were to spend $1900 on cars that you bought on the pegs right now, in ten years, they may be worth $650. Today's cars are mass produced and everybody is keeping them in the package. They will never be rare. That is except for rare variations and Super Treasure Hunts. Only those will be worth more than the $1 that you spent.

I love the Hairy Hauler! I have a few colors. For being so small, it is a pretty good downhill racer! You're the second one to mention the 'p' as a monetary designation. I tried to google the conversion but I'm not sure. Is 'p' for British Pound? GBP? Because if so, then 50GBP is way to much for a Hairy Hauler with a cracked windscreen. I don't know a lot about pricing but I know the Hairy Hauler isn't that popular.

Great video! Always enjoy the longer showcase of your cars. Bet it was well worth the treat to purchase all of those for $1900! Especially doing so to share with everyone. Love the Ford MKIV, one of my favorite Le Mans cars. Always learning more from your videos, though I'm not sure I'd find myself going for these. At the moment, I'm hunting for classic Tomica's, even though I don't have the money to. Doesn't hurt to dream though.

I do have quite a lot to learn, having only started collecting again in February of this year. But it's been great learning from your videos about the hobby and the diecasts themselves. Being a fan of classic Japanese cars, Tomica has far too many cars that I have the money to spend on. Especially the Tomica Limited line with realistic wheels and rubber tires.
