Racer X Films: 2019 KTM 150 SX Two-Stroke Garage Build Project Bike

Spencer Luczak loved the look of the 2002-’04 Red Bull KTM factory race bikes, so he mounted a build with that style in mind. He split this 150 down to the frame and went through every piece with a fine-tooth comb.

Ben Fairhall I have built my bike to the full tilt, race engine, true a kit suspension, titanium, carbon fiber, every little bit and piece. Started with a $2800 bike bought most these parts discount or second hand and I'm in it about $15,000. If I had done it all new parts it would have been $25,000 or more. Being this was a new bike and looking at the parts list I'd say this one is close to the 30k+ mark if you had to build it at cost.

I've asked this question in a few places but never really get an answer: what's the point of a 150? Schoolboy 1 cant go above 125 and ant other class can have 250s. Why get a 150 and what class does it have the advantage to have one?

Its more for people who just ride and dont race but still enjoy the small bore 2t, you can race then in the 250 class and is in someways an advantage, because its soo much lighter it allows you to ride harder without as much fatigue and u can really move it anywhere on the track but it does fall short in some areas but it mainly depends on the guy who rides it

What 250’ do you have? 2005 Suzuki rm 45,5 stock. 2005 Kawasaki kx 250 at 47 stock. 2005 Honda cr 250 47 stock. 2021 Yamaha 250 46.08 stock. 2021 KTM sx 250 47.20 stock. This is engine application is modified to be as fast as you can get a 150 landing at max 44-45 in the right conditions and this is peak. So even if its maxed out its top peak hp would be 0.5 hp less than a 2005 rm 250 stock. However even 90s 250s might be less on the dyno so if you have one of those in stock condition yes. Anything performance added to a 250 two stroke and you would leave the 150 in the dust, obviously, but lets complete apples to apples. But one thing is for sure, a highly modified 150 is producing some crazy impressive numbers, no denying that.
