Not all use steel frames. TM uses aluminium frames for their small bikes nowadays. Aluminium frames adds some weight though.

wrong, the motor adds the weight not the frame all the 80-100cc mini bikes use a steel frame so that is not why this would be heavier

Seeing this video has many views and many comments, I figured it would be a perfect time to ask my question. I'm 13, turning 14 soon. Currently I have a TTR 125, which is very fun. However, I have outgrown it and I have broken many things due to the fact that I am too big for my bike. I have bent the rear rim at least four times and the front shocks are leaking oil. I really want a new bike, but I'm having trouble finding the perfect one. I like the reliability of the four strokes, but I kind of want to try something new. I've narrowed it down to too bikes, the Crf150r and the Kx100. Which one is perfect for cruising around, going on occasional trail rides and going fast down roads?

FreerideKingz I have a 2013 CRF 150R and I love riding it. I am 5'8" and can manuever this bike around pretty good. The 250/450, for me would be a little harder to push around in the turns and manuever over the jumps for me. I think for the $800 bucks for that 150R is a steal as I paid $3000 for mine and lately I have been seeing used going around $2500. I think getting the 150R wouldn't be a bad idea and put a little bit of work into her, so you can get your money back out of it, while saving for the 250 or 450. So, when and if you are ready, you can trade up. If you don't want that bike for $800, let me know. I wouldn't mind picking that up. I rpomised my son in two years he could have mine, but if I have that, he can get that one instead and I can keep the one I have. I don't think I would upgrade to the 250/450. I am already pushing 40, so I don't need to get crazy, just enough to keep up with my boys. -James

Im about 5' 11'' and weigh roughly 155 to 160 (im not obese im just big boned if that helps) and i have a 2008 crf150rb and i know im too big for it but ive never been to mx track but plan to get into riding at a track so im not very experienced but i have been riding for about 6 months should look into getting a 250 or stick with the 150 until im a little more experienced. P.s. Im comfortable on a bike and im not scared to ride im just a little confused!!!

Dude if you're 5'11'' you are way too big for a 150 its time to get a full size. If you meant that you're 4'11'' then probably stick with the 150. Weight doesn't really matter as much it's more of how long your legs are to gauge what size of bike you need..
