Multiple reasons. Clutch braking allows you to brake even faster when doing it on top of braking. Doing it by itself saves the brake pads. It gives you the ability to control how much power is actually being transferred to the wheels. This is important when cornering, accelerating and braking. I'm sure there are more reasons as well.

Well usually the brake pedal has more resistance and load-cell, that's why I asked, I just found it curious that he assigned the clutch as a breaking pedal.
