We Ride Ken Roczen's RM-Z450! | Racer X Films

Suzuki hosted their launch for the 2024 RM-Z450 and RM-Z250 machines at Fox Raceway on Monday but they also brought along a special treat. Fresh off the track from the Los Angeles round of SMX, Ken Roczen's race-used RM-Z450 was available for us to take out for a spin! Not only that, but Suzuki provided a different race bike with settings straight from the more motocross-like Chicagoland Speedway. Kris Keefer and Kenny Day traded off the machines for 30 minutes to feel what Roczen's race bike really is like straight from a race trim. Hear their thoughts about how Roczen sets up the bike and what they think about the difference in his machine versus the bike in stock production form.

I mean Kenny was on the most modern bike there was with his HRC bike and still didn’t have the same speed he does now I’d argue. He’s top 3 most talented in the field but I don’t think the bike is as bad as people make it seem.

Makes me smile seein the yellow bikes getting some love. I rode a rm80 growing up and rallied a drz400sm for 10 years or so and always loved the Suzuki feel. Hopefully they can get back in the local scene like they once were.

ML said the clamps and forks on the black bike are 250 and the clamping is lower on the fork tube. Every media guy I’ve seen ride Kenny’s black shroud bike has looked really great. Super smooth.

Apparently he's been switching between Showa and KYB depending on the track. I think it's Showa for sx and KYB air fork for his mx set up. This is KYB and looks exactly like the fork he was running at the Chicago round. There's a good picture of it on his instagram post from 6 days ago. I'm pretty sure this is Kenny's bike.

You can find pictures of Chiz running both this fork and the coated Showa fork that you were referring to. They must all have the option to switch between the two based on the conditions.
