Great video! It never occurred to me to lever up or down on the Pullmax to crown a part. I've done that in the bead roller, but never thought to do what you did there. You learn something new every day. Thank you! 👍

Great video, loved this format. Make yourself a pipe anvil it would have helped form that curve on the roof pannel

Nice job. Take note (which you may already know or not), sometimes when you do alot of shrinking with the thumbnail die or metal moving. sometimes that metal will work harden, making it harder to form.. if you run it thru the english wheel with light pressure, it helps relaxes the metal and you can get more movement from the metal ... keep up the good work... i consider everything i do as a learning experience ... someone will ask me how i would make this or that, i dunno ... i may attack it 100 different ways before i find what works for me.. lol and im sure that applies to every metal shapper .. haha....

An idea... you could brace the pieces before cutting them out and keep them as templates to lay your pieces on.

I enjoy watching the metal shaping . I am restoring a 65 mustang, making most of my own panels. Not happy with the aftermarket parts. I was wondering if you know of anyone who has a c4 trany post 1970 v8 bell for sale. Can't find one in RI . Tryed Conn mustang,no luck. Any leads would be helpful.thanks .btw that's cool,you making parts for a car in Italy.

You should check out the stretcher Karl made a few episodes ago, no sanding required.
@RACGARAGE Жыл бұрын
I did see that, the problem is the flange I’m trying to stretch is so large. A small flange like he demonstrated is easier to stretch. I have the tooling to do the same on my planishing hammer . And I guess I could do it but it would take a while

if you don't know about Wray at proshaper he makes flexible shape patterns might help you making repeat panels

I was wondering if you actually tried to see what the water would do running over them on the car? If it doesn't help then why do it

The metal seem to be fighting you so much….Wouldn’t it have been easier to just fab the rear cab corner in one piece then the remainder of the panel by its self…..?
@RACGARAGE Жыл бұрын
I like to make panels in one piece. Make me a better shaper to challenge myself
