I discovered Live from Here, Rachael Price, Lake Street Dive, Chris Thile, etc ... on the late. After 8 years focused on Americana. Then ... Lil' Birdy ... and probably hours of undiscovered high performance BlueGrass tunes are gonna make my music lover's hunger satisfied with this modern musical scene :)

I will betcha this much, come the passing of another 50 years, try as they may gather a collection of musicians and precisely one sweet as an Angel voiced woman to match the performance you will witness hear, they will not come close. Just saying, we are fortunate, friends. Fortunate indeed!

Was the only wire her mic? It looks like this was all picked up by one mic.
@JasonArcherKnepper

As far as I could tell, just the one mic. The bass was the only instrument that didn’t move in to get louder at points. Though, I suspect the bassist was handling his volume dynamically and not positionally.

I have been a solid supporter and fan of Rachel Price for at least ten years. She continues to own her variable environments with precision and class. What a thrill to see her here, giving it her best and making Chris Thile very happy to be the brilliant artist he is. Not my cup of tea despite loving this song. I do t care for the vocal arrangement and delivery. The PB deliver per usual tho.
@paulwalker797
@paulwalker797 2 жыл бұрын
I am always sad to see such virtuosity and over playing of what are simple and sweet tunes. Yep these guys can play, they can more than play!...and the lady can sing but the delivery is over done and for me loses what the tune possesses... that which it carries from the people who wrote and the times and cultures that bore it. Virtuosity is ruining the genre, much as it did with jazz, which is now a technical exercise in the mastery of instruments...it becomes mere finger diddling and polish.
