There's no microphone as true to the voice as the olde RCA Ribbon Velocity Mic. Even the legendary Telefunken U47. Thank you for bringing it out.

Someone explain to me why there are only 1860 views after 8 months here? Ms Rachael and Mr. Vilray need a bigger audience... Nice work!

I just discovered this nice duo! It was a pleasure to know that one song of their debut album was included in the same Spotify Editorial Playlist as I found (surprisingly) one song of my debut album...Success for you guys! Guilherme Cunha Ribeiro

Tons. Search "live from here" her "home" band Lake Street Dive, and of course, Vilray!!

Rachael had a Jazz career prior to Lake Street Dive. There's at least one or two records out there.
@MrPhillyguy5 жыл бұрын
She had two jazz albums available as well. Search "Lake Street Dive" on KZbin. There are dozens and dozens of videos and several full concerts. You can never get enough of Rachael's fabulous voice.

Definitely. Im a now a fan of Vilray. His voice is so facinating to me. It sounds so modulated to me. and Dont know he does it.

Pretty sure there was no reason other than the hassle of doing it. Seems like that was a fun way of saying no.

Postmodern Jukebox sound. Very nice.

Check out swing and other early styles of jazz. That might be informative...

MrsWilliamTheBloody I love swing, the Linda Ronstadt and Nelson Riddle album is a favorite. Not that much of a jazz fan. Last year I stumbled up on Postmodern Jukebox.
@MrsWilliamTheBloody4 жыл бұрын
@@Baltimoreed Swing music is jazz music. Try checking out the artists that inspire a lot of Vilray's song writing, like (early) Billie Holiday (try Billie Holiday and Teddy Wilson) and Fats Waller. But if you like something that sounds more clean (sounds like you do), check out Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald.
@dnmurphy48 Жыл бұрын
@@MrsWilliamTheBloody Lousi and Ella are unbeatable, don't much like Billy Holiday,
@MrsWilliamTheBloody Жыл бұрын
@@dnmurphy48 Billie isn't for everyone (I've found - I've always adored her), but have you listened to later or early Billie? Later Billie might be a bit harder to latch onto. Try Billie stuff from the 30s. Like 'If I Were You' or 'Body and Soul' or 'He Ain't Got Rhythm' or 'The Way you Look Tonight' or 'You Go to My Head' from Billie's Columbia recordings. Her Columbia stuff is easily searchable on Spotify & there's a tonne of it (not all good ofc, but so much of it is beautiful)
