With all due regards to Rachna Ma'am, I would like to disagree with keeping a metal stock in long term portfolio, as commodity and metal stocks have been cyclical in nature and do not give the benefits of growth stocks like a TCS or an Asian Paints (TATA STEEL 10YR AGO Rs 40 and Today Rs100, Asian paints 10YR AGO Rs 390 Today 3250). Also with 1:10 split in TATA STEEL the equity size has increased, so now it will continue to remain in a consolidation phase for quite a long time. Same has happened with IEX after split. So rather than TATA STEEL, I would recommend VEDANTA as a good bet since it gives good dividend. But again do not expect much appreciation even in Vedanta, it can just serve the purpose of exploring metal sector along with a good dividend.

You have mentioned stock under Rs.100/- i.e. Tata Steel but I feel you have forgotten to mention that the face value of the stock is Re.1 which as per my understanding is very important because many new investors do not even know what is face value. I am sure many people may not be knowing that many recently listed new age companies like Nykaa, Paytm, Zomato shares face value is Re. 1 and just buy stocks on tips and burn their hard earned money. All these new age companies are quoting at a valuation which they might not even achieve in next 10 years. Sorry for this negative comment.

Good point just recently the stock split of Tata Steel happened in the ratio of 1:10 that's the reason of this stock close to Rs. 100. Additionally, the growth and profit story is wrongly projected, the only reason for such an exceptional TOP line (Turnover/Sales) and Bottom line (Profits) is exceptional price rise due to supply chain disruptions throughout the world, China lockdown, industry growth rate picked up at a very fast paced post covid coupled with Russia/Ukraine war. As we are talking the metal prices in the international markets are under huge pressure and are already corrected by more than 40%, further, demand is shreaded and or on hold with a strong expectations of further sharp corrections, they are buying JIT only the quantity sufficient to keep their plants running. Third thing, if you study a little wider timeline or if go back in time, you'll see stock prices of commodity companies are more prone to fluctuations and generally don't rise much. Be very careful before investing, do your own research and try not to simply influence by the one off global event triggered results. I learn alot from the videos of Ms. RACHANA, however we shouldn't get influenced unrationationally at the same time..

The thing is cyclic industries like Steel won't generate wealth for its investors in long term. But views to a 100 rs stock for decade can generate wealth for the video creator for sure. Tata Steel has expanded 4-5 years ago too, but have generated just 45% returns in those 5 years. If it's a multibagger, will she deploy her funds in it. Can bet, she won't.

Carbon Tax point not touched... Steel sector contribution to industrial pollution is comparatively higher... Hence government needs to curtail it as done by other countries to be in line with our commitment for reduction in carbon emissions...

I really liked your analysis about Tata Steel and agree with all your pt. But feel that you should have shared the downside risks also Steel is a very cyclical industry. It will surely see hard times over the next few yrs during global recession. You did not call that out. It's profits will not be repeatable during recession. steel stocks tend to be high beta stocks and therefore it may struggle really bad for the next few yrs. Also risk of China changing its stand and jacking up production and exporting at artificially low prices always remains. You should have called these risks too in your video

TATA Steel is definitel a solid business but considering it's dividend yield which is about 4.8% it is very less. Do ya'll feel like TATA Steel can be considered as a growth stock or a blue chip stock? Typically Metal prices skyrocketed last 1 year hence they made huge profits.... Increasing input costs in Europe ( Gas and electricity) and decreased projected GDP growth for next 2 years may put pressure in the bottom line of the company...... Perhaps we need to wait for some time or invest cautiously .....
