I really loved it. Lev and his wife are great storytellers and Rachel’s right, the whole story is bananas.

Just saw this last night. Came here looking for the cast q&a but that must’ve been another screening. The ending was powerful, I was crying. The unsung heroine in all this is Lev’s wife Svetlana who comes across as the voice of reality that Lev didn’t want to hear (anyone with a MAGA relative can relate as I did). If you have cable, you can watch it on demand. Otherwise, it’s available on the NBC app.

This documentary is a must-view. Russia absolutely owns the Republican Party. Lev has ALL the receipts.

Thanks, Kenneth7027, for pointing out that LEV was all caps. I uploaded this from my phone in a hurry and missed that. But I appreciate your polite correction!

I don't know why we need Rachel Maddow to explain what Lev Parnes describes very clearly also presented by the government. He was investigated and prosecuted and was sentenced to 20 months in prison. He's a lifelong grifter who grinned a lot during his interviews seemed very forthcoming, but I'm not sure why she gets the credit for this story, when it was already laid out and fully described publicly on many publications including interviews

@@viennehaake9149 Rachel made the very dry content entertaining and digestible to the masses. That's the value of the project. 😊

I dunno... why do we make movies about the JFK assassination or WWII or Jesus? There is plenty of information already out there. Just spend days reading about it or watching disjointed videos... how fun! It's called "storytelling" and presenting that story in a unique or interesting way. Do you not read any fantasy books because "Lord of the Rings" already exists? Do you not sing songs about love because others already exist? She put this movie together, woven into the story SHE wanted to tell. I would much rather watch a documentary about an event than sit through hours of news pieces or court transcripts or whatever.

@Mary Ann Thompson-Frenk D.D. You even got the name of the documentary wrong. Sloppy. You're not doing Rachel Maddow any favors.
