As many people are once again angry with what Rachel Zegler said during an interview, where she blamed the backlash on bigotry. What Disney is doing is morslly bankrupt just the same, but it's not gaslighting. Victims of that phenomenon are damaged for the long term because its a form of pschological imprisonment and torture. Don't confuse real victims with the general public, please. I think the better term is retcon, from Dr Who/Torchwood, which borrows thst concept from Orwell's, 1984. It's an attempt to colonize history by changing popular culture, but that is not gaslighting.

No, no, no, you are talking about the old version. It is written in 1597, and very evidently so. In the new version, Romeo kills himself because he realizes that his gender makes him inheritantly abusive, misogynistic, racist and undeserving of love. If you are going to remake a movie then remake it faithfully, and if you feel like the old movie isn't suitable for the "modern audience" then don't remake it. Many people were unhappy with the casting choices for this movie but likely still would have given it a chance depending on how this story played out. However, Zegler's interviews showed what type of person she was and alienated the fan base. I think this movie is going to bomb and bomb huge. Disney will release it in theatres because they have to, and then just claim it as yet another loss on their taxes.

I am surprised that A: Disney does not sue her for financially destroying the movie. B: Put a gag order on her for Snow White : C: Does not go after their internal PR team for letting her ramble on about the movie. D: Shareholders and some board members do not sue her for financial damage to the company. There is so much wrong about this movie and her that it boggles the mind. It's like watching 2 semi crash into each other in super slow motion. It's morbidly entertaining. No one will hire her and she will be reduced to do third bit plays in some shady towns to put a sandwich on her table. Her countdown to total career destruction went form gear 1 to gear 3 now and it's mostly of her own fault.... At least this might teach a lesson to Disney as to not hire any more activists... yeah.. sure like that is going to happen... screw Dsiney!
