The problem is when the woke politics doesnt make sense for the story, and is written in such a disingenuous way. If you want to have super progressive politics in your story, 1) have people in those communities on the writing team, b) write it in as an afterthought ie dont push it in peoples face and shout LOOK AT THIS! LOOK AT THE *insert woke politics here*. Schitts Creek was an amazing show with amazing characters, some of which were LGBTQ, but was written in such a normal unextroidanary way, that it felt genuine. That episode in Last of Us with Frank and Bill was beautiful, romantic and heartbreaking..... beautifully written as a window looking into their lives, and very genuine. Even Nimona, which was on the more woke spectrum of animation, had amazing characters, written in a way that wasnt shoving it down your throat. Diversity done right.

When speech is free and we are allowed to say what we want. The only accountability that can be had is the reaction of the listeners. Your trying to sugar coat what Zeigler did, stop it. She pissed off alot of people because she came off as an entitled prat that is smarter than everyone else. We don't watch entertainment for activism or learning. We do it to be entertained, to imagine ourselves in a completely different mindscape for a short time. Disney has ruined that by making that entertainment space constantly beat you over the head for being yourself. Not for anything you have done, simply because you are male, or straight or single. Whatever they have a problem with becomes the life lesson the movie is going to be about instead of entertainment.
