CC also said something about four point spots. That might be wild, a couple small circles that if you shoot from that spot you get an extra point. That would REALLY spread out the defense, they could not afford to leave that unguarded even for a moment.

Angel Reese is the perfect example of a person who plays a sport not because she enjoys the game but because she loves the attention. That’s why in all her “workout” videos she’s never breaking a sweat. She’s making a video, not practicing. To be great at a sport takes dedication and intense work. She wants the trophy without the sweat. On the other hand, CC’s workout videos are workouts first, videos second.

If you can't make a layup automatically, then practicing three point shots is a waste of time. Work on your layups from both sides with both hands. Chances are that there are other players that can knock down the long shots at a much higher frequency.
@alexstuart49777 сағат бұрын
Why is it a waste of time? Why can't she work on both.. In order to get there she has to start somewhere.. She's getting older everyday, at some point it may all gel together or it wont. Say you would like to see her working on finishing around the rim more..
@Didymus67 сағат бұрын
@alexstuart4977 The season will be here before you know it. Her bread and butter is getting rebounds and putting it back in the basket. It looks like stat padding when it takes several attempts to get it in the basket from five feet away. That's why a lot of people don't give her credit for all of the double doubles. She is free to practice three point shots, but other players that consistently make them would be the first , second, and third choices to take the longer shots in games. They generally are smaller players and would get abused under and around the basket.

@destinypirate4 сағат бұрын
Sorry Rachel, the first time we disagree. The talent level is not higher... There may be an argument that the shooting skills are higher, on average, however - 1. This only applies to the average. The top shooters of the past 4 decades are on par with those of today. 2. The top 10 to 25% of players from the last 4 decades would generally beat the top 10 to 25% of players today. 3. The players of the past, excepting the bottom 25%, had better passing, lane running, defending, and understanding of the rules of the game. 4. The biggest difference (between now and the past) is the Bigs. The top 10 to 25% of bigs, from the past 5 decades, would decimate this league. This is very much why we see so much dominance from Joker and Wemby who, good as they are, are by no means up to the level of past great centers. In simple terms, it is easy for a big to dominate a league that offers no paint defense. Further to this. It is easy to drive the lane (and skyrocket shooting percentages) when there is no strong paint defense. 5. Rules of the game. If the players of today had to play by the fundamental rules of the game - not charging, not traveling/carrying, not flopping, etc. they would be steamrolled by players of other eras... because today's players have become so depending on breakign the rules. Watch players now, they come up the court not just with their hand on the side of the ball, but all the way underneath (watch Luka, Ball, or 100 others). Of course if a player can carry the ball at will they can make more extreme lateral movements. This is not ballhandling, in the sense of being within the rules of the game. Add to this that defense has been handcuffed and the lightest touch fouls are met with a stunt flop and 50 whistles per game. I'm not sure why people entertain this narrative. Look at the playoff teams of past decades. Imagine what would happen to the top teams of this era going up against those teams.

Maybe it's just a style difference in the video's shot selection (they're not showing everything) or maybe a difference in the development coach's style, but I don't see the show and tell from the coach that we see in the Caitlin video. He's just throwing her the ball, and appears to just be giving her some verbal cheerleading. There might be some instructional advice being said, but imo that doesn't have as much impact as the "I demonstrate, now you try thing" We see with Caitlin's coach. And then him breaking down how she did, after she tries.

You know even in that practice CC is influencing what Angel does. She thinks that 3pts are the only thing that separates her from CC. What she should be practicing is layups and very close scoring. After all most of her rebounds are from her own misses. She needs to do a thousand a day looking at the basket, looking away from the basket. She needs to be so in tune with where she is that she can shoot from anywhere inside the paint. As of right now i dont trust her at all. I feel bad for Lexi to have to be on a team of Caitlin haters. Gotta say Rachel, first time in over 8 years of following your career that I 100% disagree with you. Only on your AR glazing. AR isn't even close to CC in marketing or repping the WNBA. Just looking at $ numbers alone; CC earned over 11 mill last year. Just in 2024. AR's total lifetime net worth is listed as 2 mill. We don't need to go over game attendance or why WNBA became relevant last year. The "poster child of marketing" whether it's her own brand or the WNBA brand is clearly CC. Not Reese not Wilson or any other player from last summer.That's just the facts. "Great marketing and building your brand" can also be achieved by staying wholesome, always saying and doing the honorable and right thing, praising others, including your competition, and always taking the high road. I'm good with giving AR props for her team marketing but it isn't even close to what CC brings. You know that. No big deal, because you'll never read this, but your take this time, for the first time, was disappointing.

She has a high motor that helps her grab rebounds (including her own missed layups) but she is not a skilled basketball player and we can all see it! Shooting set-shot midrange and three pointers in a closed gym environment ain’t gonna help her get better in a WNBA game. If she wants to be a model who is always wearing little clothing or a podcaster, great but then she needs to quit pretending to be a professional basketball player. Can Angel do both, sure, but she needs to improve her athleticism, footwork, and post moves, not a three point shot which she won’t be doing in a game! 🙄

Clark fans can never make a video about Clark without bringing up Reese because Clark is so boring
@KevinPauling11 сағат бұрын
Each to his own as to what’s boring but your statement is just blatantly false Ace. Troll away! What videos do Clark fans make that are shown to us to make that judgement? Or are you referring to pod hosts like Rachel?

I disagree, Angel is not an elite basketball player.... at all. On the other fashion is where she should concentrate.

Instead of a 4 point line, make it a 3 point line plus one. Where it's still three, but it you score again in the next possession without the other team scoring, it counts that basket and adds a point. It gives incentive to increase the urgency and pace of the game.

That Caitlin Clark interview was great. Angel Reese pod cast is not too bad.

This is not a talented nba as people think. Knowing the fundamentals of the game is kind of important. 70 three pointers making only 20 of them is not sooo good we don’t know what we are looking at. lol that was a funny take on why nobody’s watching. 30 years ago Jordan was clutch bird clutch magic was awesome Isiah dr j stop it watch some games from 84 to 92. And compare

Angel is a joke as a baller, she should just give a and concentrate on social media, someone may follow her 🤷♂️

angel wins on all fronts compared to iowa's 22, she is the best in rebounds, the other is not the best in anything on the court and off the court there is no fight, stop forcing 22 otherwise she will not be a good player in the next few years. cg has shown that she is superior and both have won while the other has never won anything.

. The NBA is, in fact, soft. You don’t need a four point line. You’re just gonna have people lining up under their own basket chucking 10 pointers by the time it’s all over. Three point shots should only count the fourth quarter. That fixes all of it. You still have a need for three point shooters, but it forces teams to bring the play closer to the rim. You’re welcome.

I watched the AR Ka and Lexie interview and AR and Ka were definitely pissed that Lexie was getting all the Qs. Lexie’s answers were honest and the so called Internet backlash was typical of the anti Fever jealousy. Won’t be watching Unrivaled and definitely not AR.

What interview did you watch? 😂😂😂 take the yt glasses off and watch it again.. Was nothing but positive vibes, trust the less questions they got the better they felt.. Got up too quick when it was over.😂😂 this is what you call reaching.. Next time just say you don't like Angel, atleast it would be true.. 😂😂😂

If you someday want a serious job in media you need to stop saying "you guys" now. I know it probably is meant to engender a sense of closeness with you audience but it sounds like a 14 year old telling a story and its a terrible habit you should get out of now. IMO
