My ex inlaws made...250k a year. The husband worked and the wife stayed home with one kid. They appeared to be very well off. But, they were hiding the fact that they were HORRIBLE with managing the money. She was a big spender. On coach, high end stuff. Random dumb things like a 10k baby grand piano . No one played piano btw Credit cards on everything. Everything was financed. Going out to dinner all the time. He even went to a pay day loan place. For a while to buy groceries. I was from a poor house. And noticed the cheap food they bought. Because obviously their leftover money was sparce. After getting my stuff in order and making almost double what i used to make. Looking back at what they spent and bought.. omg they weren't even close to being able to spend what they did. Even in cash they weren't close. .btw they had a mortgage on 3 houses.... One, we rented for a while, the other was a vacation home.. And the third was a over sized, over priced primary home..... Ridiculous

If you're earning six figures and still broke, living paycheck to paycheck or in debt, there's an addiction problem happening. You can always make different choices.

No debt , but definitely don't save much because of inflation and high cost of living. Zero addictions. When you take such a wide range of income and make such a generalization you are bound to be wrong.

Sounds like the typical broke doctor scenario. Being broke and in school for too long, and wanting to start enjoying life once got out of school. In the student loan documentary that Ramsey Solutions produced, there was this orthodontist crying about his million dollar student loan and how he could never pay it off, which was actually the result of him thinking he "deserved" to be an orthodontist and later choosing to not attack his own debt. When I bought my house, I kept living a simple life (not eating out much, not buying non-essential items) and put everything I had toward the mortgage. I paid off 500K of debt in 5 years. He has a much higher combined income, and as Rachel said, should be able to pay off the student loan and car loans within 18 months.

If you clear it all up, the debt that you use to pay will become your saving in 1 year you would have $120000 in your pocket if do it right and focused on saving. The house that you own now it is also a debt because it has the equity that doesn't mean it wouldn't change when this unrealize lose moving the direction or if you lose your job then thing get even worse, Nothing are belonging but only debt and bebt. I just think if you ask hey we're going to check back in with you and you know 18 months 2 years it's also like you're walking with them and not holding their hands but you just walking with them and and help guide them and push them when they need it that's why I think that's the next step for Francis solution is to follow up calls

All wives are high maintenance, more-so than cars and a mansion, that’s why I shy away from them.

Stop it with the selling the cars. They make a ton of money. Buckle down and pay it off. Take a couple years and work to be debt free.

@@WeBeatMedicare6969 The wife will rob him of everything including his dignity. That’s why I chose to forgo the whole family thing. Life is far more peaceful and no one can take what I’ve worked for. I’ve watched my peers and relatives get married multiple times and it’s always a disaster.

I think depending on where you live, being broke on 300k is totally possible. The Ramsey's need to get out of Tennessee a little.

Nah. If you’re living somewhere that isn’t affordable on 300k, you need to move
@15KHPCLUB

@@BradDiBenedetto Lol that’s your only go-to solution is to “just move!” What happens when there are no more affordable places to live? Then what’s your answer? Go out in the street and pitch a tent? Cause that’s kinda what’s happening right now…
@BradDiBenedetto

@@15KHPCLUB no the honest answer is there doesn’t exist a place in this country where 300k isn’t enough to live comfortably. It definitely goes farther in some places than in others, but if you can’t make 300k work, that’s a you problem. I said ‘move’ facetiously because people always want to blame something for those problems, so I’m giving you a solution. I’m truth, there will be a day that 300k isn’t enough to survive anywhere. And on that day, the average salary will be 1 million, and people will be complaining they are broke living on 3 mill a year. The numbers keep getting bigger, but people will always find a way to live outside their means

Even in the most expensive area in the US, one can live with less than 5K per month. The caller made those life choices.

They’re in Phoenix, so it’s definitely not that. I’d also argue his home value estimate is probably WAY off considering how the housing market looks right about now. Pretty sure Phoenix is one of the markets with home values dropping like flies.

Funny how she doesn’t even know what it’s like to live on $330k a year. It’s a ton of money they should be fine. But Cruze here still has only ever made more than 500k a year cuz daddy. Get off ur high horse
