You said a mouthful when you said to do it in weekly batches. I'm already burned out at work. I was burning myself out trying to do kdp as well. Week 1, week 2 etc. So simple. Never ever entered my mind for some reason. Thanks!

An insightful and very relatable video. Especially liked your comment about how your success can benefit everyone. I’m about 1 week away from launching my first Coloring book. The page production process has been absolutely joyful and actually energising. But the frustration of having to stop creating and do the mundade things in life is real. I have a hubby to be who respects my time and that is a true blessing. Anyway thank you for the advice shared on this channel. Quickly becoming my fave kdp channel actually.

Thank you for sharing. A lot been going on at once lately, but I will get back to focussing on book publishing as this is my ideal dream. Where there's a will, there's a way. Love the honouring the season we're in. So important! Even it it's 1-3 hours a week, it's better than nothing. Love the batching idea. I help people balance their energy, emotions and goals. Yes, reminding of our why is amazing. Watching any of your videos is always inspiring as well. It's important to feed our minds & Souls with something inspiring and it's amazing how motivating it can be.

I have literally been seeking a video like this for the last few days. I have been struggling with time management with being a new mom, working part time, my daughters therapy schedule 5x a week due to her recent diagnosis, starting my dual masters and continuing with my new KDP journey and aspire to also have an etsy shop. I also strive to maintain a healthy lifestyle so I dont consume so much coffee. This video really helped me see the overall picture for myself. While I have a lot on my plate and aspire to do many things setting my goals and going over them should help with that burst of energy to pull through that extra hour I didnt realize I had. And as I get closer and closer to my goals the load will lighten up because I will see the ball rolling and I won't be stuck in the beginning. Thank you so much for this video and I hope everyone else that sees his video gets inspired just as much as I have been. Good luck to everyone! ❤

I just found you last Saturday & had decided to jump into LCP then my entire family (including two young grandsons) got hit with covid- our four year old was actually hospitalized for three days! This video hit me deep down into my soul! I refuse to live in lack- we lost my precious Mama one year ago to covid related pneumonia. I’m the matriarch now and like my amazing Mama, I’m going to make room for a career and delegate responsibility to those who need to start taking up their own slack! I will make time to kick start this passive stream of income, I just needed a plan and you appeared at the exact moment I was ready! Thank you for your course, I signed up today.

Wow! this was so inspiring! I started publishing in sept and have not seen many sales after listing about 25-50 books. I recently started watching your videos and have since implemented how you paste LONG TAIL keywords into the 7 boxes. I now see them on the front page (in incognito tab under "books". Is that a good thing?)! I am only about a week into this and hope, with God's help, to see some results. I love the ideas that you gave and I plan on implementing more of a schedule into my week when it comes to bookmaking and publishing. I also love the quotes idea! I do the same thing! Thanks for the encouragement Rachel

Amazon sent me this message on the grounds that there was an error in the cover. I did not understand the point : Remove any language from your cover file or the details you entered during setup that indicates your book has a binding type other than paperback (such as spiral-bound).

Hello Rachel, I'm new here! I totally hear you on this one. I work from home and home school my kids. Most days I'm silently losing my you know what. I took a few days off during the holidays, but I still feel burnt out. Lately what's been working for me is that I allow myself about 3 hours to create books, then pick it up the next day if it's not complete. I had to remind myself that it's completely ok to not finish a book in a day, start time blocking my schedule and take a break. Hello from Edmonton ❤
@RachelHarrisonSund2 жыл бұрын
Simone, you are doing it all! I'm right there with you losing my you-know-what, and I'm probably doing half of what you're doing! It's definitely okay to take more than a day to finish a book. Quality books take time, so give yourself some grace and take those breaks! Also, love hearing from my fellow Canadians. 😀

What was the first thing you outsourced when you started scaling your business?
@RachelHarrisonSund2 жыл бұрын
Initially I outsourced uploading my books to KDP, but after realizing that this was against KDP's Terms I stopped doing that. About a year or 2 ago I hired a designer to update all of the covers and interiors on my planners for the new year, as I didn't have time to do it myself anymore. For the other areas of my business, the first thing I outsourced was my bookkeeping, followed by all of my admin work.

Hi Rachael, I am new to your videos and I particularly love this one. Thank you for all the advice, I'll use it and as you mentioned, I need to believe that I'll make it. I have a question, I've already published 2 different journals on KDP since December 2021, I haven't had any sales yet. Would you recommend using Ads to start earning? From one of your videos, you mentioned that's not necessary to put Ads. I wish to get more insight on this. Thank you in advance.
@RachelHarrisonSund2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! Ads work best on books that are already generating sales. If your books haven't sold yet it's unlikely that ads will help. I would work on refining your process and trying to get some organic sales first, then try ads when you feel confident with the publishing process.

Great video! You talk about using same interiors with different covers... I heard Amazon was coming down on books with same interiors... is this wrong? Or how might one protect against this? My one thought was to create premade "blocks" that can be swapped in and out on a page to make unique interiors quickly... same blocks but mixed in different ways to create different interiors.
@RachelHarrisonSund2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Bart! Use common sense when re-using your interiors. Books like planners, notebooks, and even guest books, make sense having the same interiors, while other "one-off" type books like colouring or activity books don't. If you try to publish books that don't make sense having the same interior you might get into trouble for using "duplicate content".

Hi Rachel, I’ve just started watching some of your videos. I published a low content book last year, it sold about 350 copies and then stopped dead in its tracks. Other versions and editions I’ve done since then haven’t sold a single copy. I’ve tried adding A+ content and nothing seems to be working. I could use some help .
@RachelHarrisonSund2 жыл бұрын
Hi Billy, I would redo my keyword and category research and then try swapping out my keywords to see if that helps. After waiting a week or two to see if that works, I'd then try swapping out my categories. (Don't swap out both keywords and categories at once, or you won't know which set of swaps actually helped.) And if you haven't done so already, be sure to email KDP and request 8 Amazon Browse categories. Hope that helps!
