Yes I have had this problem too! Usually the wrinkles come out but some are tough. Love when your voice is sped up! It’s hysterical!

Keep going, then when complete try using a damp cloth/towel on the back with a medium hot iron.... I used to be in the curtain industry and when we had blockout fabric that had heavy creasing, we used damp towels and cotton setting to iron them out, I wouldn't suggest with raw canvas and glue, but with the beadwork done, it should work... Let me know if it does.

As several others have said, I spritz my canvas first before ironing with a very hot iron. I always move fast and it never takes me more than a few minutes to so a canvas. Good luck!

I have ironed all my poured glue with wrinkles. I use a light mist of water on the back and the hot iron. U have nothing to lose on the one with the deep crease since it’s pretty bad anyway. Worth trying? I followed a video on the channel: Graphic Intention 🤓

I loved the squirrel voice it made me laugh. I just had to iron my canvas for drills and chills it was trashed. It is also double sided adhesive. I figured it couldn't be any worse, so I used the parchment paper. I then used a towel with a steam iron. That did help to get some of the creases out. However, the deep creases did not iron out. So I finally decided to directly iron the back of the canvas without steam and without a towel ironing very quickly and I finally got the canvas to lay flat. I think it is going to be ok! If you have nothing to lose try ironing it without a towel and steam.

Yes I needed to try this on a canvas I usually don’t buy from AliExpress. Air bubbles, rivers, ugh! Wish I had seen this before I’m almost finished with it. The drills are popping all over the place. Now I remember why I usually only purchase Diamond Art Club kits. NEVER have I had a problem with one of their canvases. 🙃Thanks for the video!❤️

When I was very new to diamond painting (and didn't know any better), I'd ironed the backs of poured glue and double sided adhesive canvases with their covers in place, ironing over a towel or without one, spraying water, if wrinkles were stubborn. Ironing on a fairly hot setting, the clear covers would wrinkle, but canvas condition was no worse for the effort. Now I cover canvases with non-stick parchment paper prior to ironing, spray water and iron at high temperature until wrinkle free. I replace the wrinkled from ironing parchment paper with new when done ironing. I've never been brave enough to iron once drills have been applied, for fear of melting them.

@@angelabaker2024 You don’t EVER want to put wax paper on a canvas. It will stick worse than glue and be next to impossible to remove. Use non-stick parchment paper.

@@angelabaker2024 I put non-stick parchment paper on the front of the canvas (replacing the original cover), turn it over, spray the back of the canvas with water and iron the back of the canvas with moderately high heat. Best wishes for a good outcome.

Hi Rachel, Thank you for all info. I bought 2 DD, one for me & one for my son for xmas. I've never done one. the one for my son was a mess. I ironed it and made it worse. I used a flour sack towel for pressing it is much thinner and allows more heat while pushing down on iron. I want to frame it but still not satisfied I want absolute flat, it is a partial diamond painting. I say never give up lol I might try my steam iron next😁. Watched another video and she bought a wrinkle release downy spray but didn't iron it just spayed it and put weight on didn't work, but I wish she would of used a iron with it, it claimed to release wrinkles better than water, I'm going to keep trying til I get it, I don't want to see any slight crease in the frame.

With the Wish canvas-could it be cut into separate panels to eliminate some of the creases? That way you wouldn’t have a total loss. Btw I warped a poured glue canvas recently. The edges are wavy. Watched your vid hoping to find a solution. Tried warm towels. Guess I’ll try heat with heavy books next. May just have to order a new canvas. 🤪

OMGosh! I am new to dp. All I have to say is why do they not roll the canvas on like a paper towel roll or something like that?!?Foam roll? So crazy that we have to take the time to “try” to get these creases out. After watching how long it is taking you to get them out and without a lot of success it looks like most canvas and paintings will just have the flaw. I am going to try the suggestion of the wet towel from the curtain lady. Wish me luck. I look forward to seeing more of your video and this finished dp to see how it turned out. Thank you, J

I put a damp tea towel on the back of the painting and press with a hot iron for 1 to 2 sec.. After doing this a few times the creases are almost gone..

well it does seem a bit better, however I'd be worried that your drills will still be hard to keep in place along those deep groves, I wondered if a quick steam setting might help ? with hopes it wouldn't ruin the diamond painting, possibly try it on a smaller cheap painting first to see what the end results would be, before continuing on that one .... just a thought

I'm not sure if I understand. This video is pretty old and most companies I buy from now package their paintings carefully so it isn't much of an issue... If it's really creased maybe contact the seller.

I have a few that are losing their stick and I wanted to know if there is any way of just heating up or revamping the glue. I think I watched a video by Ms.Coffee (I think) that she ironed a canvas to make the poured glue sticky again? But I’m not too sure/can’t really find it anymore

Thank you for this I have just about completed a wavy one with creases. I am heart broken. I pushed on after multiple days of having it under heavy encyclopedias, hoping the drills would flatten it. When you look side on to it you see the waves. Once I have completed it I will try ironing it. It is double mounted glue. I really have nothing to lose now. Too sad.

Thanks for all of the great information, it helps. When buying a painting online is there any way to tell which kind of glue it is? My first painting was a Leisure Arts Diamond Dotz and I can definitely tell a difference from the next ones I ordered online through Amazon. I loved working with the Diamond Dotz, the new paintings do have a thinner glue that smears if I move a drill. I live in Florida so we have a lot of humidity. Thanks again for your info. God Bless. Hi Lottie! If the store sells a poured glue canvas, they will be sure to tell you, otherwise it's sadfe to assume it is double sided adhesive.

Would a light spray of iron spray( meant to help iron out wrinkles in fabric) on the back of the canvas help? I have received a large canvas, with which the company thought it would be a good idea to fold the canvas before rolling it around a foam core roll, and now I have a rather sharp and prominent crease running through the centre. This was a poured glue canvas. I contacted the company and they just blamed it on how it was treated during its travels. But clearly the issue had begun by folding the canvas first before rolling it. Like the popular lines in the movie Twister, “ Look all I’m saying is don’t fold the maps”, “ I didn’t fold the maps”, “Yeah, well Kansas is a mess, there’s a big crease right through Wichita. ROLL the maps!”

Try laying the canvas in the sun and when warm try smoothing the canvas with a ruler. Lay something heavy across the top for half an hour. It may help but no promises. If your husband is home, have him pull on the other end to see if the wrinkles will come out.

Like 9 months ago i received a canvas so wrinkled!!! the worst think that i have seen, was poured glue... In fact, i asked in the group if they think that there is a way to fix it and everybody commented that i asked for a replacement because it was so bad!!! I asked for the replacement, but i also tried to fix it... i change the clear cover for opaque cover (because i reuse them =) ) then iron the canvas, twice... and although looks better, the wrinkles still there... so i put under my mattress for like a week and then checked... still wrinkle... i put again under the mattress and let there for almost 2 months... someday i put out... and i swear you... there is no wrinkles!!! you can put both canvas under your mattress for at least 1 month and see if there is any change... take photos of the after and before =)

I seriously doubt her method will work cuz I can barely get a hot dry iron to get all the folds out..it helps a LOT but they're still faintly there. I just don't get WHY they package and ship something that so OBVIOUSLY shouldn't be folded out..its ridiculous.

Be careful doing that iron on a painting becuz u can ruin ur glue...I lost glue in certain spots...what I do is turn the painting over to the white side spray room temp water on it and then rub it out and it works!!! No iron or towels!!

Unfortunately think its a lost cause.. they folded it to tightly. If this is your first time watching a video about this.. don't be discouraged.. more often than not ironing helps a lot. Personally I don't think she should've aired this one.
