I've noticed that any of your videos I pick up to watch is very interesting cz there is always something more to learn. For instance I noticed you asked for "A four piece" chicken nuggets and I piece is in singular and I thought it was in plural , I wonder how much a four piece chicken nuggets is ? Cz I think 20 cents more for a ten piece chicken nuggets is a worthy deal.; one more thing that called my attention regarding the drive thru is the fact that it should be a little complicated for a person trying to learn English to ask for a food order the reason I say it cz It seems to be the reception between you and the person who took you order was faulty or breaking up and that makes it more difficult for a non native speaker . "Anything else" makes me remember the video reel of Asthon Kutcher asking for a food order ... and then and then jajaja ! Thanks for your learning videos.

Great question. Because it's being used as an adjective to describe the product.a 4-piece order vs. at 10-piece order. They are describing the kind of order.

Compared to English speakers, we Farsi speakers say nouns and adjectives upside down. What should we do in order to accustom our brain to learn English in this new way? In my opinion, one of the things that we can do is to never translate the meaning of the words into the native language and use different adjectives for each noun that we learn according to its definition. What do you think we should do to solve this problem? Thank you for your guidance
@rachelsenglish4 ай бұрын
Thanks for your thoughts! I think avoiding translation is one good method, as you suggested. I think doing lots of imitation practice, and practicing longer thought groups and sentences will start to train your brain to use English sentence structures more comfortably. Here are some of my other tips on learning vocabulary: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iXrSm6ekgtWffsU

hey rachel is it common to hear to completely drop the "L" for the word "hold" when it adds another preposition such as on and maybe up? so it may sound like həʊdɑn or həʊdʌp?
@rachelsenglish4 ай бұрын
It's possible in some dialects of English, but in standard American English there will be a dark L in this word. Here's a video I made about HOLD in phrasal verbs: kzbin.info/www/bejne/e6HRoXaHn7SBj6ssi=8K-sIoZYsswO-xyW

What "a number one" refers to?

Sometimes fast food restaurants have numbers for things you can order on their menu. A "number one" could be a simple way to order a certain item or combination of items that are sold together.
