I LOVE the wavy hair on you, and I’m not just saying that! It compliments you really well, in every way you tried styling it, including it just being completely left down without tying it back. So pretty and gives such summery vibes! And it looks like you got better at it as you went along, so I’m sure next time it will look even better. It really suits you. Gorgeous! 🤩

Back in the 80s, we had crimping irons. We even had crimping irons with interchangeable irons for different effects. That’s all that pink thing is.

I had a variation of that from conair in the early 2000s too, and sure it worked.. but still ultimately, like so many others at the time, wound up IRONING my hair with a towel/clothing iron, and barely caring to wave or crimp cuz it “wasn’t the fad” 😂🙈 .. good ol braids overnight work easier for waves anyway lmao

I feel like when your doing the waver your pulling on the hair while it's still hot at the top so it's pulling the wave out as you go down the rest of the hair. Also, look at the wave. If you want volume, make the wave that goes highest up at the top. So you may have to hold the iron upside-down. Minky McKnight from cute girls hairstyles has a waver tutorial (it's with her product but can be universal knowledge across wavers) and I stg it helped me so much. She explains how to hold it when using it well.

I feel the hair pain. As a wavy girl, straightening takes forever, never looks right and lasts about 3 seconds after I leave the house (BC…aka the wet coast…girl). And there’s always one weird spot somewhere where I wasn’t close enough to my scalp, or was too close! I love watching your channel.

As a wavy girl who has literally three different curl patterns and textures in my hair (some ringlet sections, some loose wave sections, and some actual straight sections) a life changing tip for me was getting my hair partially permed at a Korean or Japanese salon. They know how to do perm patterns that are much more loose and smooth than the tight ringlet western perms! And I don't perm my whole head, I just get the tricky sections of my hair to match the sections that I like, plus a few strands at the front to sit exactly how I want them to. It lasts forever and you only need to touch it up when the roots get too long after like half a year! I haven't had to worry about head styling it since, I just make sure to keep it healthy with different conditioning treatments. I highly recommend looking for a local Korean or Japanese hair salon in your city even if you have to drive for a bit to get to it, since it'll be like a twice a year investment!

I've got wavy hair, also on the wet coast. I've been using "color wow - dream coat" lately when I blow dry my hair straight. I bought the small size thinking there's no way this works. Complete game changer, my hair lasts wayyyyy longer, no weird wave etc.

I have the hot tools waver, I've had it quite a few years now and love it, I always get compliments when I wave my hair. You usually just have to play around with it and see what works for you, I use it straight across and also on a diagonal it looks a lot like a loose curl that way. I find it better not to get right up to my root but that's just me. When I'm done I usually scrunch in some gel and use sea salt spray, the style lasts a good 3 to 4 days for me. Love your channels!

I also restrict heat on my hair now that I’m older and have had issues with hair loss. First, use the lowest temperature on the iron. I’ve seen lots of professional stylists say this. I go as low as 250. Still works and you can hold it on the hair for longer times. Second, please use heat protectors before using an iron. There are many that are good. I add some before I dry my hair and again when I use a curling iron.
@BullDurham123216 ай бұрын
Your hair looks so good wavy! I have played with the 3 barrel and I turn it so the “bottom” is up and I think it works better. I also play with where I start the sections. Then for the top layer, I pull my hair straight up and face the barrel backward and go up. Does that make sense? 🙈 It makes it lay better.

I have hair similar to yours, and when I use a waver like that I always do it at an angle instead of straight across. That way it’s more of a wave vs a crimp, there’s some variety in the size of the wavy depending on the angle and it somehow ends up having way more movement. Looks sort of like the day after you curled your hair, which is always the best hair day.

I have the bed head crimping iron that you can adjust the size of the waviness (it’s purple). I love it! You should try it. The big sexy hair powder can help with lifting your roots. The feel isn’t my favorite but my hair is like yours and I use it from time to time when I want more volume or I go old school with mousse, a blow out with a roll brush and then style.

You could try some more heatless styles to give a little bit of natural wave to your hair. There's all kinds of different things on the market now. It also helps if you don't dampen the hair before you use the heatless curlers because that way you get softer curls and they don't get really tight and they're easier to comb through. I like to use the Conair spiral curls curling rods. I use the larger ones and I curl it on dry hair and leave it in for about 2 hours and I get some nice body and a little bit of curl and it really looks pretty. I also have fine hair that is difficult to curl
@laineechapman23436 ай бұрын
When using the waver, leave a little, like an inch out and then use a small flatiron for the root! You can get some volume using a small flatiron at the root and bend it so it flows into the waves. I have similar hair to you and that works best for me!

Rachel, I think you look so good with the crimp waves! ❤️This is your first time so it’s not going to be perfect but the more practice the better you will get. You were already making progress on the one side. 😉 You should definitely do the wave/crimp style. In regards to Dry Shampoo, the best one I’ve found is one you can make at home. It’s just Cocoa Powder and Corn Starch. You have control to make it as dark as you need to make it less white on your hair. It can be messy but it’s super cheap and best of all, it doesn’t have alcohol or other harsh ingredients. 🙂

I think you need to try to increase the heat on the tool and some texturing layers in your hair could be really cool. I have very thin hair and add some extensions to the front of my hair to add volume and that also helps pull off the look I want. I do the extensions myself.

Hi there! Here are some tips for the styling iron: The sections of hair your taking should be thinner. If you want volume at the top make sure you put in the styling iron in a 90-degree angle. And for the aftercare make sure to put some hairspray with the hold of 4 in it. Also, spray at the root of your hair to make the volume at the top stay in place. Good Luck♥

The prices on those dry shampoos are crazy! Especially, the K18. $48 for that small of a bottle is ridiculous. I’ll stick to my drugstore products. I’ve been loving the Batiste Overnight Dry Shampoo. I’ve used it before bed and day of, like a traditional dry shampoo. It makes my hair feel and look clean. I don’t have to avoid touching it since it doesn’t leave that weird residue behind. Plus, it’s under $10. I can’t afford those prices to start with but even if I could I wouldn’t. There’s so many great options for so much less.

The wave tool always worked best on clean hair for me. The dry shampoo may have messed with your results a tad(?) Also, don't pull on on the bottom of your hair while it's in the tool or right after you take it out. It needs the slack to make a full wave, and if you pull while it's hot the wave diminishes. Spray immediately with anti-humidity hair spray and sprunch upward. I live in Florida, those are my tips and I always have successful waves for about 2 days. :) Also, section the hair and keep the edge of the wave tool perpendicular to your scalp, starting at the bottom. this creates layered waves, much more volume and waves at the crown.

I tried the K18 dry shampoo while I'm on a massive hunt for a replacement for my holy Grail pulp riot Berlin dry shampoo that got discontinued 😭. I hate the K18. It is NOT weightless it's so starchy and gritty and if I brush my hair, my hair is actually breaking off bc it's so dry and stuck together with hold. I compare the formula of the K18 to a worse version of the IGK charcoal dry shampoo. The residue, hold, gritty dirty heavy feeling I can't stand. And the K18 broke me out so bad anywhere my hair touched my skin. So I can only use it on hair wash day. Ireally like the Amika formula but I can't do any Amika products bc of their fragrance. It makes me physically sick and migraines. I have tried SO many dry shampoos in the last few months and I'm sad I can't find anything that fits what I'm looking for. Low fragrance that's not migraine inducing, zero grit or feeling to it. I know if they claim " volume" it's going to have hold and grit. And works on really oily hair. Pulp riot was perfection. Mind you I'm a hairstylist so I can get most things at cost, even then I think K18 brand is vastly overpriced. I have and use other things from K18 and the performance vs price compared to similar products from other brands is just not matching up. So, if anyone knows of a dry shampoo that is pretty much exactly like the pulp riot one and good for extreme fragrance sensitivity PLEASE let me know. I'm currently switching between Klorane oat dry shampoo, Maria Nila one and Biologe one. The biologe so far is almost there except it's way too strong fragrance. Klorane is just too expensive for how often I go thru dry shampoo and I can't get that brand at salon stores.

As a perfume lover... the notes are not special, she just wrote them with flowery language. Eg. MAGIC! Joyful, uplifting, radiant, intoxicating, enchanting. It's a big marketing ploy. Not one of those notes are unique, (maybe Elemi I see the least), nor do I feel the blends are. Personally I think she could have killed it with 2 really well done Pillow Talk (maybe like Naughty/Nice releases like KVD did Saint and Sinner back in the day)..? The bottles don't match her makeup. But that's just me and my two cents 😂
