Hi! I really loved this video as it really represents the stages a pianist (though it is condensed, of course) goes through as they practice! I would love to see a similar video except with Bortkiewicz Piano Concerto No. 1! Would that be at all possible? I love this concerto and have even played it myself but unfortunately Bortkiewicz is not very well known T_T. I feel like this would not only be a great opportunity to raise awareness about this composer but also be a chance for others (and perhaps yourself! haha :)) to explore new, enchanting, exciting music. Regardless, thank you so much for sharing this video!

lol that makes zero sense. She probably practiced piano thousends of houres in her life and only because of that she is now on a level where she can sight read and lern a lot faster because she is so trained at it. But she practiced her whole life for that skill. So the reason why she is able to play this good after just 10 minutes of practice is not because she hat the right practice thechniques (which she definetly has but this is not the reason) but because she dedicated her whole life to piano and practiced the skill for years.

#Rach2 Rachmaninoff’s piano concerto no. 2 is one of my favorite pieces to this day, and also one of the first concertos that I consistently listened to over a long period of time. Jokingly, I always say with Rachmaninoff’s concertos that picking a favorite movement would be like picking a favorite child to me. But, if I had to pick a favorite in this moment, (stereotypical as it may sound) I would probably pick the 2nd movement. There’s just something about the sweeping melodies, and the flowing textures in contrast to what we’ve just heard in the first movement, and to what we’re about to hear in the third movement that’s just so refreshing! It feels like your coming out of a hard winter, and into the first weeks of spring! I love it!

I played cello for this concerto last month, it was my first orchestra concert I ever played on cello. Difficult on cello, but the majority of the time I was focused on how outstanding the piano soloist was, and I fell in love with this concerto instantly. This is definitely my favorite piano concerto, and I’ll do anything to play it again one day on cello, when I have more experience as well haha 😂

It's to your everlasting credit that you didn't simply re-enact and re-record the first challenge, since you'd already spent over an hour practicing the piece. Instead you were honest and completely started over on another part of the concerto. I love this concerto! I love Rachmaninoff. I'm not a great pianist, but one of my early pieces was Prelude in c# minor. The big chords were a bear, but the sound and rhythm of them contrasted with the smooth flowing melodies is what I so loved about it.

#Rach2 There isn't one specific highlight of this piece, rather its the culmination of all the movements that makes it so special. Rachmaninoff finally breaking through his depression in the final movement and expressing it in his music is so powerful. Love the videos cheers

#Rach2 The third movement is my favorite. The second theme's melody is simply beautiful and passionate, evoking a heart-melting yet heartbreaking experience. The second time the piano plays the theme is so touching, and offers a more introspective and somewhat "deeper" rendition than that of the first time. Fortunately, I had the opportunity to listen to it live this year, and when the orchestra plays it for the last time it's just mwah! *chef's kiss*. I love the entire concerto, but for me, the third movement is just a bit more special than the others.

#Rach2 This is a piece where I can honestly say I love every second of. It’s so hard to pick one movement because they’re all so amazing. The intensity of Mvt1 and the flowing calm of Mvt2 give me levels of joy and ecstasy I can’t describe, but if I had to pick, Movement 3’s absolute catharsis as the culmination of everything exploding and coming to a glorious and triumphant end will have to take the cake.

#Rach2 I love the first and second movements, I'll never get sick of hearing the desperation in that first movement and all that sublimnity in the second. But there's just something about the third embodiment for me that never fails to amaze me, it's like I'm listening to it for the first time every time I hear it, especially that last 2 minutes, it's like an opening movie scene showing the great pyramids! Another amazing video! Can't expres how much I appreciate the content you make!

#Rach2 As a pianist, the 3rd is such a stand out choice. It is such a tremendous piece of music, all round. For the pianist and the rest of the orchestra, it's brilliant! Incredibly pianistic, but never does it take away from the rest of the orchestra. It's so flawlessly balanced, and simply mind bogglingly impressive to watch. But personally, and as a music enjoyer, I have such a strong connection to the second movement. My god is it something else! It is the musical embodiment of so many emotions I feel and can't put in to words but want to share with others. This movement is part of why I continue to persue my musical passions, day after day. I too, want to be able to instil these emotions with my music - even if it's simply my musical interpretation of the greats' work, I will be delighted to play a role in such a tremendous part of the world. What it makes me feel is deep within. It's part of what shapes our cultures. It provides an understanding of something I can't describe with words. And you just can't get it anywhere else. Of course I love the entirety of the piano concerto. But the second movement is my favourite - it is truly special to me, and the third is a close second for the pianist inside me.

#Rach2 In all honesty, Rach's second and third piano concertos, all movements are unique in their own ways, and all have their different characteristics. But the first movement of Rach's second concerto, omg. It's all the musical ideas, emotions and virtuosity put into one movement. Almost like a Sibelius symphony, where he condenses all his musical ideas that you would find in a full hour-long symphony, but only in one movement, presenting all the emotions and feelings as well as weaving them together professionally. Well done Annique and Well-done Rach!

#rach2 I am currently learning this piece and am in dire need of a physical score 😅 I actually kind of ignored this concerto for quite a long time, but when my friend forced me to sit down and listen to it i immediately fell in love with the profoundly beautiful melodies and harmonies, not to mention the story behind it. My favourite movement is the second, it speaks to my soul. So much so that I begged and pleaded to a couple pianist friends to play rach's romance for 6 hands with me (sounds a lot like the second movement of rach 2).

Before that’s I was not really in love with Rachmaninoff, but after I read book “Goodbye Russia” - Rachmaninoff in Exile, i have realized how great he was, the contribution to the classical music he brought is incalculable. Second movement is the most beautiful thing I’ve heard in my life, the emotions I feel listening to it are different every time. Playing this piece is a dream since the first movement of the second concerto is definitely my favorite concerto from this composer, and probably one of my favorite ones overall. #rach2 this piece is probably the best concerto. It’s so engaging from start to end and I do believe that this was Rachmaninoff’s most beautiful piece and one of his very best. The 1st movement asserts the dominance and intense emotion with some little breaks in between, the second movement is also very emotional with great melodies, and the third comes out of no where putting the concerto to an end with an emphasis. Truly a magnificent piece.
