Why does the title credit Corelli when this is the theme from Handel's Sarabande? Did Handel also borrow the theme?

This is a very old theme called la folia, which was used by musicians even from 1500 s

Well Wikipedia says its an ostinato progression, from my listening experience all folias sound the same, corelli , vivaldi and handel all used it and generally theme sounds almost identical

@@thenoblegnuwildebeest3625from a historical perspective, it’s hard to answer that. What we think of as la folia is its later form in history. The melody and the chords were both known but people took liberties with them and improvised using them.

Haëndel's sarabande melody is based in the folía theme. La folía is not only the chord progression, also the melody and the rythm. And as said by another person, it has been used since renaissance in Spain, way before Corelli and Haëndel, Rachmaninoff didn't know about the folía, even though he played a lot of times Liszt's spanish raphsody which has a folía part. He was told by a musicologist, after 2 concerts playing this piece, that it wasn't Corelli's theme, but the folía theme.

But the tempo and rhythm are not for us, the author has gone too far. And you don’t need to synchronize your hands either, it’s unnecessary. And turning up the volume to diminuendo is correct. What a disgusting performance.

Post a video of YOUR interpretation of this piece, since you apparently have such deep insight. Go ahead, show proof that you know a single thing about what you're saying. Why not make a video with an in depth analysis of the different interpretations of this piece that you DON'T find disgusting? Do even ONE THING to prove that you have any reason to leave a comment like that, aside from your own insecurities, and then maybe you can be taken seriously.
