Bela interpretacao !

Heard him in Tel Aviv last week playing the same piece. It was to my ear a disaster. He destroyed the piano with left-handed aggression. The romanticism was gone and there were plenty of errors. The right hand was inaudible above middle C. He has a vision of this piece, clearly, and I hated it. Brutal, blurred and quirky. He played jazz afterwards and that was fine.

I understand This is a very intimate music It just looks like a "bully" music

at 8:36 a huge mistake! playing to aggressive will never keep you safe. here is a good example of it. sorry denis. you don't come close to kissin and volodos. you need to come down and take master classes from these two guys.

korglove you have no idea what you are talking about this is one of the best interpretations I have ever heard including Volodos and Kissin. Anyway the mistake is very small and in my opinion not a mistake that you should characterize as huge! Just listen to the cadenza! beautifully played. All concerto generally. Very impressed ..

I know very few people who could really “play” and enjoy all those technical passages. Great pleasure to listen and play with him live. And believe me, i played with other two pianist, too. This is just another way of interpretation.

no good. to rushed, to aggressive, to bangy. matsuyev needs to take masterclass from kissin or volodos!
