I'm just really hoping that Aarakocra (and perhaps even Kenku....which may even be more entertaining since they can only speak languages other than their own by imitating the words of others) really do make it in. I've always wanted to play an Aarakocra. Maybe even a Tortle as a playable race would make sense considering their affinity for water (as they're humanoid turtles/tortoises), and Baldur's Gate is a coastal city....much like Waterdeep or Luskan.

Ironically, Duergar are more diplomatic than the Drow, and as of Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes, it's unlikely they'll enslave you since they now build robots for labour purposes.

You know... I can DREAM of those races being true. One can dream. My more realistic hopes are for PHB races being added and then MAYBE someone else if that is possible. I guess, Duergar are good possibility. I would love to see Kenku in game, and if true, I will implore couple of my friends to go adventuring as party of Kenkus just screaching like a flock of crows. That Could be hillarious :D Also Warforged are my favorite race in D&D, I hope for a robot character. But even if this is not going to happen, I'm totally fine with that. I'd rather want to see Larian finish the game and make it completely playable instead of playing with bunch of options in a broken mess. BUT, and there is a huge BUT! One can dream of having both! And I have high hopes for Larian&

@@adamw5397 I doubt that even Lae'zel would try and kill a Githzerai PC while they were still on the Nautiloid (they have a common enemy and a common problem to deal with that takes precedence at the time, namely escaping Avernus & the Nautiloid and then finding a way to remove the parasite), or an alternative for Githzerai would be for them to meet up with Shadowheart instead of Lae'zel, and Lae'zel could instead be where you would otherwise find Shadowheart. Even Lae'zel would realize that, like it or not, her best hope for survival would be a truce and temporary alliance, at the very least until they had escaped Avernus & the Nautiloid and made it to the material plane.

@@gamester512 That technically could happen. In Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft, we have the Dhampir lineage, which can override any race you play if given the option to transition to that lineage. The keywords are "any race" so with RAW, you could technically turn a Warforged PC into a Dhampir, essentially allowing you to play as a blood-powered machine. If something like that can happen, Warforged Mind Flayers could be in the realm of possibilities.

Like that you keep it grounded and (try to) set people's expectations (I mean, you'll fail, but only because the internet is full of, well, people - not due to lack of honest effort). Great video! I just finished my first playthrough with a drow cleric devoted to Eilistraee and I really hope they will introduce more dialogue for Drows who did not live in the Underdark

If the Volo’s Guide monsters are added, it’ll probably be as DLC. Because I can’t imagine how much longer it’d take to implement that many additional races to the game before launch on top of the races from the Player Handbook. However, PLEASE, OH GOD, LET IT BE A THING I NEED TO BE A FALLEN AASIMAR WARLOCK SO BADLY!!! Here’s to hoping they add new subclasses as well. If I can make a Pact of the Celestial Aasimar warlock, this game will be a masterpiece.

My Azmodius Tiefling was able to make a (Planar) statement at one point. Can't remember what it was or when it was since it happened early on in my playtime and never again but I think it is only available if you never make a (Baldurian) response. All I can say about when it happened was that it would have happened after the ship crash at any point up to the refugee camp that doesn't involve traveling further than the refugee camp if that makes any sense at all. I believe the Baldurian response that I keep making which stops it is when the player meets Astarion but it might be one of the conversations with him afterward, not sure. The tag may ultimately find its way into the game as a dynamic one that is applied via in-game decisions after the character has been created. Then again, maybe not, enjoyed the video.

Interesting! I know that in an earlier build of the game the meta tags were being displayed next to certain dialogue options: i.redd.it/s47u5plidot51.jpg and pasteboard.co/Jw5cpcG.jpg but the files only list Tieflings as a Rare race.

if they have duergar and the fucking YAUN-TI playable in game, then I see no reason that kobolds, gobbos, hobgoblins, orcs, gnolls, and bugbears won't be playable - all of those species, especially the orcs and kobolds, have long and rich histories on faerun. And since there are tortles there may be thri-kreen, muls, and half-giants; likewise, since there are warforged, there may be changelings, shifters, and kalashtar.

As someone who knows a bit about forgotten realms, it feels really odd to me that they've put tags for Warforged, but not Githzerai (the Ideological counterpart to the Githyanki). I think that a Githzerai would have alot of interesting interactions with Lae'zel and Shadowheart.

I feel it's pretty unlikely that they'll devote that much time and manpower to making... [counts quickly] 15 unimplemented races? To the same graphical precision as the ones we currently have? I don't know how I feel about the possibility that someone at Larian may need to do in-depth testing to make sure Minthara can get railed by a Tortle in a cinematic. Also, this suggests a definitive lack of playable Goblins and Kobolds, unless those races really are considered "common." But I'm weirdly fine with the idea of being disappointed. Thinking about all the races we MIGHT get is honestly pretty hype. Looking forward to the class tag video, if you do decide to make one!

With the announcement of the Mask of The Shapeshifter from DOS II, there's at least one specific use for the REALLY tag now. Somehow, I personally doubt it's gonna be the only one, but time will tell. However, I strongly doubt that those META tag races will ever be NPCs only. It would just be course for massive disappointment for the players, and there's absolutely no way Larian doesn't know that. So I strongly believe they're either gonna be playable, or cut content. And currently, I'm strongly (again, I know) leaning towards them being playable, because of the dialogues you've shown, and because I think Larian want as much as we do to give us eveything.

They may have created dialog options for racial tags that they themselves will not implement with the idea that people will or will want to implement those races as mods. This leaves them time to implement the stuff from the primary books, while still allowing people to do have less popular options available to them via mods.

Considering Gale talked about some fancy character, and with who he met. Dragonborns and the dark dwarfs are coming for 100% sure. Sadly i have a fear that larian will further pull off the divinity 2 setting. And the city of baldurs gate will be the last chapter like city of arx was. Larian has said they want to make multiple adventures for BG3. In essence, making it the quintessential D&D game. Yuan-Ti pureblood and the Warforged make me think they're going to have a Yuan-Ti adventure and an Eberon adventure. One, because Warforged are literally just robots. Two, because Yuan-Ti purebloods are SUPER broken in D&D 5e and I feel like they would make the game 'easy mode'.
