LOVE THE VIDEO!! I've been looking for someone who goes into this much depth of a lawn mower build because personally I'm working on putting a Volkswagon turbo on a racing lawnmower but there seems to be no good channels.... Until I found yours!

THANKS! :) when i was building mine i was helped a lot by youtube vids so it made sense to give something back, don't have much experience with turboing lawn engines yet, check out ooracingtube channel on youtube, i believe Adrian has a video of his turboed vanguard v twin on there that he did for fun, (it still mows his lawn!), if you check out the most recent video of the mower featured in this video, you will see that with a fairly bone stock flathead briggs 12hp you can actually still go pretty fucking fast ;) glad you enjoy it WL kzbin.info/www/bejne/iXO8fHyPpLGSrdk

Love the VW in the beginning and thanks for the vids! I've been trying to figure out how to run a live axle on m next project!

+J Pete Thanks man, thats k-rons baby, hopefully we will have some footage of the shop truck coming up in the next month or so, there are so many ways to do the live axle for sure, one pretty neat way was the doc locker 2.0 on sprockets garage youtube where he fits one into a transaxle, there will be a few more ways shown on this channel over the coming months ;)

where did you get that axle and bearing setup
@WrenchLife8 жыл бұрын
Rear axle and brake stuff came largely from kart components in england, the bearing mount units are their own, its pretty much all from there, but with a talon 428 pitch split sprocket for a shifter kart from demon tweeks.

WrenchLife what is the length of the frame?
@johnmackie93508 жыл бұрын
what size of axle did you use? 40mm?
@WrenchLife8 жыл бұрын
John Mackie the axle is a 30mm, 25mm axles are also fairly commonplace in mowers, 40mm might be a bit harsh on your back lol, the bigger diameter axles are a fair bit stiffer ;-)

True lol thank you keep up the good work , your videos are very helpful

+wrench life can i get a link for the barrings for the axle
@WrenchLife8 жыл бұрын
PIGGY603;} I got them direct from the supplier; a spot in England called kart components, they do a lot of stuff for rental karts so it's built strong, if you check out their website they have a catalogue which updates every year, otherwise a go kart bearing housing is what it is, there are different kinds, or you could use what is called a 'pillow block' type bearing housing which is generally cheaper and easier to mount, Jon

What kind of mower is it ?
@WrenchLife6 жыл бұрын
Eli Beard hi Eli, the mower is a Murray widebody type chassis, these are produced/sold under different names all over the world, in the UK one of these makes is 'Hayter' which is what this machine is; a Hayter 13/30. Hope this helps, Jon 🙂
