Using a V belt on the Torque converter is costing you a lot of drivability. The TC pulley you have on there is the driver, for it to engage smoother and ramp up to speed, you'll need the driven pulley. That will require a Jackshaft but should increase your top speed and make your take offs smoother. .
@IngenGarage Жыл бұрын
I thought about putting a driven on the rear but never got around to it, the way the mower currently is today seems pretty good with regular pulleys, however it was fun trying the torque converter pulley out though.

There's certain types of older washers that have a centrifugal clutch pulley with 1 inch dia shaft bore. And a 3 inch pulley . I just drilled holes and bolts a 6 inch pulley to the 3 inch pulley on the clutch..

FYI riding lawnmowers are built with the piston facing toward the front of the mower so you can stand them up vertical to work on or store them. Just make sure you drain the gas tank first.

hi, I saw your video and I also installed the torque converter. 40 series on my electric tractor it has a 10kw motor it weighs 400kg but the belt overheats after a few km and the same thing happens

Test the diode on your charge wire. It's a small black piece that looks like it has heat shrink on it. Or a constant draw on the battery. Just put a kill switch on it to isolate the battery.

Yep! That is how I got the whole idea for this build, I have been watching them over 5 years on other channels when this one didn't exist yet and when I saw that build I had to do it! Now 4 years later I'm finally doing it!

He dude nice videos can you show me how the belt is going im in a same project now and i have mounted the torque converter bud i dont know how the belt has to be maybe you can shoot a little video from the bottom off the mower so i can see the way the belt needs to be 😁 thx and good luck with your projects greetings from the Netherlands

Thanks dude! The video when I got the mower driving for the first time has a clip of the under side.
@AUTISTICBLOGGER_steven Жыл бұрын
You should get a SMV sign for it after all its a tractor because a tractor is a tractor no matter how big it is and you should probably find a old starter cup off a push mower and build you an emergency starter it will save you a headache I'm only 18 an autistic but I've been doing stuff like this since I was like five or six when it comes to working on small engines and building stuff like this

Could i install this torque converter on my off road mower?. It goes through mud and water, so i dont know how it will hold up against the dirt.

I'm sure you can try it! The springs might fall out of place if you go over a ton of bumps but other than that it should be good!

I'm curious, is the fully extended diameter of the converter the 'same' as the old pulley, I guess I'm curious if it gets larger and pulls on the belt possibly stretching the belt
@IngenGarage Жыл бұрын
The spring on the clutch will compensate for the torque converter when it engages the belt and extends. It probably extends fully to 3 1/2 inches with a half inch belt and 4 inches with a 5/8 belt. The old pulley is 3 1/2 inches but the belt sits in the groove, the belt on the torque converter sits actually 3 1/2 inches so in theory it actually is a bit bigger than stock. Its hard to explain in the comments but hopefully you under stand what I'm saying lol.

Fun stuff wanted to do this myself curious have you broke your clutch pulley yet, mine melted
@IngenGarage2 жыл бұрын
Nah not yet, the pulleys seem to be holding up alright, apart from this 40 series driver springs & rollers sometimes popping out but other than that it seems fine.
@anthonyjacobsonsimracing9 ай бұрын
Did u keep frying and shredding belts with that clutch?? cant get mine to work under load on grass and mud
@IngenGarage9 ай бұрын
Not really honestly, big thing is making sure your belt alignment between the pulleys is perfect and obviously the proper size and it should be good.
@jacquesjones557011 ай бұрын
hi im looking at your clutch did you adjust it for a 5/8 belt or it is not adjutable by the way nice job
@IngenGarage11 ай бұрын
A 5/8 is one inch larger than a half for the same size. You can fit a 5/8 on it but you have to have pulleys to fit it and unbolt the clutch and idler to slip around the factory belt guards and it should work.
@ThinkBeforeYouSheep Жыл бұрын
Maybe toss a 4 or 5 inch pulley on the rear, maybe go full send and toss a 2 inch pulley on the rear.

Just got a troy bilt pony tryna decide what I wanna do to it. I'd like to replace the pulleys and belts with sprockets and chains. Haven't seen anyone else do that yet
@IngenGarage3 жыл бұрын
I would do a chain but then I couldn't use the clutch, if I got a 1" bore centrifugal clutch with chain sprockets then maybe that will work idk!
