My FIRST ever time bringing this bike to the track.
I am familiar with this track due to my Ninja650, yet everything feels so different!
this clip was taken before lunchtime, meaning this was still me getting used to the bike. My last session of the day was my fastest, on average 5mph faster through every apex. Not to mention I got a lot more comfy with early exits and late entries!
* Some things I noticed I could improve*
- wider lines
- more trail braking
- more extreme body positions for earlier throttle
- adjusting the shifter
- adjusting the throttle
- adjusting my suspension
- later shifts (i wasn’t even in the peak powerband)
- and A LOT more water
a reminder to please give me solid advice on how to improve, not silly criticism. This was NOT my fastest session by any means, and I corrected a few things by the end of the day.
I hope you all enjoyed, please like and subscribe if you wanna see more!! (I will be returning in February)

Was this your first TD? It doesn’t appear so but if it was good riding man, passes were clean and you are riding smart around others and within your limits. It all comes down to seat time realistically but a few takeaways I could leave you with are these: 1: focus on fundamentals and the pace will come naturally 2: smoother throttle input on corner exits 3: try to have more consistent lines and brake markers 4: ask CR’s for their opinions and be open minded to their advice! If you ever want to go ride on track i’m in central FL, have a ‘20 and ‘05 zx6r (track only) just holler!
@blizzthebike

thank you my man I really appreciate this, I’ve done several TDs on my 650, yet the difference between these two bikes are insane. This was the first time bringing my 636 to the track so I wasn’t really pushing it till the last few sessions of the day. But I definitely felt the things you mentioned. Next event is in early February, I hope to correct my lines and to adjust my throttle cable so my throttle inputs are much more linear!! also, what track do you race at? I’d love to try out a new layout eventually!!

@@blizzthebike I just started riding in March of this year and frequented JGP a lot because it's only 2hrs from my house but I also ran Road Atlanta twice (you HAVE to go sometime!) and then Daytona in October for my first races and got bumped to white plate for 2024 season. Which is why I picked up the '20 to build something a bit more competitive for next year running WERA, PanAmSBK, and ASRA. I'll probably come down in Feb to shake down the new rig but you're welcome to take the 05 for a few laps if you want, it's very well setup and it's just my B bike now. I'll shoot you a DM feel free to hmu with any questions brother!

performance wise i’ve done, race spec air filter hiflo oil filter full system Tech1 m4 exhaust 2wdw velocity stacks 2wdw block off plates 2wdw ecu flash putting down 128whp, i definitely feel a HUGE jump in performance lol. The bike absolutely pulls it’s insane even if the top speeds are the same (STOCK GEARING) a simple sprocket swap would unlock the topend. You can literally feel the WANT to keep accelerating past 155mph.

@blizzthebike
@blizzthebike 5 ай бұрын
way better performance, smoother and controllable engine braking, smoother roll-on throttle, smoother QS shifts especially at low speed, way cooler temps (due to fans turning on earlier), perfect fuel ratios, idk the list goes on and on and on lol. Very worth it, the only thing the bike is missing is proper gearing. 5th and 6th are too short for 128whp lol.

What tyres you using? Also replace the OEM fairings. Dont wait you will crash and be sad.
@blizzthebike
@blizzthebike 6 ай бұрын
oem tires at 33/30psi, very soft and grippy. I’m on my stock fairings because this is mainly a street bike (always using it on the streets) I don’t know if the effort of removing and reinstalling the oem fairings and lights for some race plastics is worth it for 1 event every other month!!😆 The goal is to have fun, and progress, without taking a tumble. Baby steps!

@@Rich_Newell_ the 650 is super comfy!! so different than a supersport. I personally love my 6R, It’s way more balanced than the 1000 but at the end of the day… the top speeds are completely different! Would I swap my 2024 636 for a 1000? NO! While I’d love to have both the 6R and a future gen 10R… imo nothing can replace the absolute perfection of my 636

Ok I'm just gonna assume everything else is dandy. I'll just give my 2 cents. Accelerate as much as possible when you do. Try go full throttle whenever you can, as fast as you can. Brake as hard as you can when you do, and fade into a trail brake. And then try to minimize the time when you are not full gas or full brake. Welcome to your new expensive ass addiction.
