Agree with everyone, George, this is where you belong. You will eventually adapt and start to shine. I must say, you are a lucky lad to have the Rocket hanging around!

🙌 yep a couple more races at this level and I’m sure I will adjust to the extra speed and race length! Extremely lucky to have the rocket and these videos wouldn’t be possible without her 🙌

Cramp... urchhh... got me after I climbed out of the van Sunday, monster hilly tt for me. Nearly fell over on the driveway.. tried the vinegar cure, hmmmmm may actually work bizarrely. Top effort, that looked like a cross race 😂 . Podium next time.
@GiorgioCoppolaCycling Жыл бұрын
😂 it’s not nice that’s for sure especially when you can feel it coming in the last lap 😅 yep the conditions definitely made it a lot like a cross race

Carb/Electrolyte mix in your drink bottle and extend your high intensity training sessions to get your legs used to the race time 😉👍 Great first ride in the expert class 👏👏🥐🥐🥐
@GiorgioCoppolaCycling Жыл бұрын
Yep going to put a mix in my bottle next time 👌 and maybe they will let me stop for a mid ride 🥐 that would probably help 😂

Good going Giorgio, you flew past me on one of the climbs. Hope my shouting of encouragement as you past didn't put you off😂. I also saw you and Ben warming up on your rollers as I was using the poor man's rollers, the tarmac hill😆

Great result, I was also glad it dried out a bit for the 3pm races! I managed on one SIS gel and a 750ml bottle but could have done with more drink!🤪

Yeah the morning conditions were brutal 😅 I’m thinking I might try a carb mix in my bottle next time or maybe just have the piece of cake pre race 🤔😂

Well done on your 4th place. Course looked a lot drier than my run in the morning. I was so slow I thought ' if I see the Rocket I'll ask how's the kitchen coming on?' 🥵
@GiorgioCoppolaCycling Жыл бұрын
It was so much easier in the afternoon… slip and slide for you guys in the morning 😂 Haha nearly done now thank god 🙌
@pinkie7803 Жыл бұрын
I did this in the morning and I cannot believe how nice the course looked. I felt like I'd been through a mincer after the first lap! Two of the three climbs were unrideable, or at least quicker to run.

Nice ride looked fun 🤔 Well I did a bit of a longer ride than you, at the weekend Dirty Reiver only did the 130k did not eat or drink enough to be honest. Had to stopped at second feed station for around 15 mins as I was eating for England 😂😂 hope Rocket get more cake and coffee😊 how is the new kitchen getting on.
@GiorgioCoppolaCycling Жыл бұрын
Fun once my legs had recovered 😂 ahh the dirty recover looked like a brute… you definitely have to be on top of your nutrition for that one 😅 The new kitchen is nearly finished hopefully by the end of this week 🤞

All the xc races I did in the 80's and 90's were 2-3 hour suffer fests with 800-1500 feet of climbing each lap, usually in the middle of August when it's 95 degrees. I wouldn't of had the energy to talk to a camera and be all bubbly. Instead it was a lot of questioning life choices.
@GiorgioCoppolaCycling Жыл бұрын
That’s a definite no from me… the XC races back then are essentially marathon races now 😅 I may have to try a marathon race one time and it should make XC feel a lot easier 😂
@ironray123 Жыл бұрын
@@GiorgioCoppolaCycling Yes I suppose it's all relative. I still remember how painful those races were all these years later. Just to complete the course was an accomplishment.

@ultragobi Жыл бұрын
@Giorgio Coppola Cycling you have the speed obviously hence 4th first time out. That extra time hurts. Try going from vet races of 45 min races to 90 min races.
