The latest instalent of our popular weekly segment is dominated by the unfortunate injury setback incurred by last year's Champion Stakes winner King Of Steel, with the grey forced to miss Royal Ascot and early-season targets, and the horse subsequently being taken from trainer Roger Varian's big Newmarket yard for recuperation and with uncertainty that he will return to the yard. Varian has since said that he has no Amo Racing horses in his yard.
Tom Stanley and Neil Channing discuss developments in company with trainer James Fanshawe and jockey Jo Mason along with a variety of other topics, including the early unpredictability of this Flat season and some big-priced winner of big races as well as the latest update on gambling regulations that might affect punters and their enjoyment of and participation in the sport.

The thing about ITV's Bafta is both of those they've won have been for national hunt coverage. That should tell them something about the flat coverage. Laborious at times, far too much talk and waffle.

The sign of an owner who is a complete wrong un is when they start sowing seeds that the horse has been mistreated in some way - in this instance that the horse shouldn’t have been injured. Happens a lot these days and is always the wealthy owners

Neal gave a near perfect explanation of what should happen regarding betting rules ie the rules should be drawn up by the gambling commission and the bookies have to abide by them instead of this ridiculous current system where the bookies draw up their own rules. But once again not a single comment from a racing presenter on this issue as god forbid they might upset their sponsor bookmaker. Untill all racing presenters distance themselves from bookmakers then these conversations will remain biased and a waste of time.
