The jockey in all blue gave the horse trying to bite his mount a hit on the nose with his whip. That seemed to work.

it looks more like he's knocking the horse's nose back with his fist. the whip right on the muzzle would've been too much and i don't see it making impact there

The horse actually bit the jockey, he was interviewed coming back in after winning the race, when he showed his hand slightly bleeding and said, yep he got me.

@@denisemunoz1719in this video at least it’s obvious the horse didn’t bite the jockey, the jockey’s knuckles just bumped his teeth in the jostling about. Horse was definitely going after the other horse.

@@melissaspake7727 That maybe so, but I watched the race at the time and the interview with william Buick as he was coming back in, when Ole Bell said to him ( jockingly) looks like the other horse nearly bit you * when Buick replied * yep he got me * and showed his hand bleeding ( not too much ). But yes it may have tried to bite the other other horse, but failed 😁

You ought to look up Arcadian Heights. He was gelded to try and calm him down. I think he was just as stroppy in retirement. kicked a vet for giving him his inoculations. then there is Ubedizzy. He was savage. Bit the tip of Andy Crooks finger off.

The horse saw the jockey using the whip and bit him , if u notice the jockey on the horse who bit is not using a whip, some young horses have traumas associate with whip use and they get agitated when they see whips as they grow older 😅. Anyways funny comments tho

Not exactly. Horses have a herd hierarchy instinct and a more dominant horse will intimidate and/or show agression towards a less dominant horse.

Personally, I would call it defense. Didn't hit the offending horse hard. More of a bonk. But if the horse had grabbed his leg he could have pulled the jockey off and it would have likely killed him. Professionally? Not a clue.
