Sabotage was a rap genius! However, he was murdered in the year 2003. He had a drug dealing background, music got him back on track. But unfortunately it wasn't enough. Listen to Sabotage! A hug..

Congrats for your reactions man, it's great to see someone actually trying to get the meaning behind lyrics, after all, we're talking about poetry... Just something I need to point out: this live version REALLY makes it hard to understand the lyrics for someone who've never listened to this song before - and not just because of translation - even though it's still the most exciting version to watch haha. This whole song is - on the surface level - about Mano Brown facing the judgement, the dillemas and the fingers ponted at him by different people that were starting to see Racionais as "a group of now famous and rich people", and replying them, while also taking out of his chest how much this whole thing hurts him, who is trying to do everything right for him, his people and every black and/or poor person out there. The beginning is a "riddle", Mano Brown states some things about tears to introduce the song. Then, the beat starts, and he is awakening. He starts kinda of talking to himself, he thinks some things and his counsciousness replies, kinda forcing him to get up wash his face and face life, and he gets back at thinking about life, about last night, etc... Then, he gets a call from a friend, that starts to tell Mano Brown about this day that he was hanging out with 3 friends listening to the musician Guina ("Guina" is kinda of an archetype on Racionais MCs lore and universe, it's hard to explain), when out of nowhere came this rich kid who took a few hits and started to diss Mano Brown (and this friend of Mano Brown on the phone quotes that kid a lot, so understanding the dialogue gets more complicated) When his friends finishes the story, Mano Brown replies saying that anyone with a mouth can talk whatever shit they need to get the attention they want. Later, he quotes his mother and gives her an answer, just to get back to his reflections after having received that call. Then, almost at the end the song, Mano Brown describes some other kind of people, the ones that say that people like Brown, now famous, must indulge and take pleasure on everything the world has to offer, for better or for worst - pretty much tempting him to sin -, and he concludes that, if to seize the life, he must be ready to kill or do whatever it takes to whoever it is, he, as a person, prefers to listen to the church preacher (then a voice erupts, quoting the bible and kinda of mimicking a preacher), and Mano Brows gets back to finish this masterpiece. So, yeah, a deep song, an amazing composition, and pretty hard to follow for anyone who've never listened to. Once again, Congrats! haha peace

The main vocalist is called Paulo, but his stage name is "Mano Brown" The founders of the Group are: - Mano Brown (Pedro Paulo Soares Pereira, 1970) - Ice Blue (Paulo Eduardo Salvador, 1970); - Edi Rock (Adivaldo Pereira Alves, 1970) - KL Jay (Kléber Geraldo Lelis Simões, 1969). Ed Rock is the one who sings; Life is a challenge and Black Drama.

Sabotage was a Brazilian Rapper who was murdered in 2003 with 4 shots for a debt in crime. Sabotage is highly respected in Brazilian Hip Hop for his authenticity and charisma, and for having a surreal lyrical talent despite not having completed his studies. Sabotage, in addition to music, was the first Brazilian Rapper to participate in a film, he appears at the exact moment you ask about him, black with spiky hair. 16:38 I recommend a reaction to "Sabotage - A Good Place" for having a subtitled music video.

This song's a dialogue, but the alive version doesn't show that properly. Mano Brown receives a call from a buddy that starts to tell about how he was at a party and a guy started to talk shit about Brown, and how no one tried to make him stop or something. Brown listens to that and starts a think about the advices his mother gave, telling that it was worthless to fight for the rights of black people, because even the blacks don't care about that. He thinks about the guys that he admires the most, Malcom X, MLK, and how they fought for peace and got shot. The music's about Brown thinking about how his work and fight for the black people in Brazil is hard, and how he have to fight for people that don't give him the credits for staying where he was most needed, in the favelas, fighting for the consciousness of black people, instead of being where the money is, with the supermodels etc, and being sad about the conclusion that humankind is evil, and even Jesus cried. And the music's intro is a charade, he's talking about tears: "clear and salty, fits in one eye but weighs a ton".

Hello, good choice. Awesome react as usual, thank you for the respect, time and attention you give to them Still would ask for Inutilismo 2020 Em uma música (2020 in one song) with some background content or just me being annoying (please do not send hate towards Lucas or any artist I'm going to mention, it's me being annoying trying to promote them because I think they deserve, and I would like to all of you see for yourselves.) Its a saga 2019, 2020, 2021 and now 2022, the video has some highlights, but the 2021 you would be more impressed visually speaking, but I beg you, do the 2020 first to get in the mood and see the hard working Lucas put in everything by himself here, please - Brazilian, sing is just a hobby - King of KZbin mashup my opinion - Not spamming, just being slightly aggressive because is going to be a ride if you do the reaction - He is a comedian, so he use props to "Get you in the mood" of each singer in the video - He plays all instruments. ALL - Everything is played like Rock or METAL, except his 2x faster Eminem cover - Did everything by himself in 2 months - Justin Bieber Metal (Only Head ex-Korn did better with his band Love+Hate covering Let me Love You, you guys should check, it's Head!) - He does all the vocals, backing vocals and effects - Here some artists you will find out in the 2020 version: The Weekend Harry Styles Billie Eilish Cardi B Blackpink Arianna Grande Eminem BTS Doja Cat - Viewers if anyone read the comments and gets annoyed or think I'm spamming go see for yourself and just tell me what you think, its only fair... - Please don't have any negative feelings towards Lucas or Inutilismo, it me being annoying af asking for it - 2022 is a banger - It's a good chance to do something different and end the year with a banger - Enjoy the diversity -I will be forever in debt and I'm introducing you to some modern takes. 🙂 BTW none of my native languages are English, so please forgive me, my grammar sucks. And my keyboard has his own mind that don't always agrees with me. Thank you. Stay hydrated 💗 Edit: The brazillian wave will come...

Hey man, let me try to give some more context for this song. When he refers to himself as Brown it's because his artistic name is Mano Brown. The song starts with a monologue, but then goes to the first person perspective until he wakes up with a call. Then it becomes a dialogue, where a friend of his tells him that, the night before, he was smoking weed with some friends by a dealer, when some rich guy came to buy some for himself, and started talking trash about Mano Brown-probably because he knew the people there were acquainted with him. He started to claim Mano Brown sold out, made it big, and only talks about the slums in his music, but doesn't care about the hood anymore (Capão Redondo, by the way, it's where he comes from). He's bothered by all this talk, since even a gun was mentioned at some point, and his mom wants him to pay no mind to these critics, and just keep his cool.

Racionais was never simply a RAP group. In fact the hip-hop movement throughout the 90s wasn't simply a cultural movement, but also a political movement. Not in the sense of institutional politics, but in some sense like the civil right movement in USA. We haven't a Martin Luther King or a Malcolm X, but we had Racionais, Sabotage, RZO and a lot of artists that carried the personal mission of raise the social awareness of the poors. Probably the prevalence of artists as intelectual leaders throughout the 90s was influenced by the military dictatorship in Brazil, who forced the exile, or killed, most of the people identified as subversive opposition. Because of that, throughout the 60s, 70s and 80s, the only road of free speech left was the works of art, in which the political message went under the radar of the censorship disguised on the poetry and metaphorical literacy. So your right wen you view Racionais as something more than a RAP group. Until today Mano Brown is a political "influencer", nowadays he runs a podcast on spotify where he interviews black personalities of all fields on a variety of relevant topics.

Evil is inside everyone, and if Jesus, was betrayed for so little, how our society can survive? When is all about, what is mine. People losing their life's for a cellphone, a piece of plastic and metal that is replaceable, when life isn't, doesn't matter how much money, you can buy things, you can buy people, not trust, love, friendship, but people only see the value of things, when something priceless is discarded like nothing, the irreplaceable nothing...

It's not that the translation is bad or wrong. Is that it is translated literally, so you don't get most of the expressions. "You right side" or "Seu lado direito" is that inner voice that speaks to you, your conscience trying to make some sense (sometimes for good or bad).
@eufrr
@eufrr Жыл бұрын
I was pretty sure you would get confused by that parte after he said he was sleepless that night. He says that he was shocked by a phone call on the night before, and them starts to play the dialog. What is more confusing in this dialog is the fact that there are kind of three people involved, Brown who receive the call, the caller who tells him what had happened and in doing so describes, in the first person, what the rich guy who came by said about Brown. Another element of confusion in this dialog is the fact that the Brown lines in this call are said by the other rapper (I think Ice Blue, but not sure) and Brown plays the lines of the caller, which includes the speech of the rich guy. For us here in Brazil it's not confusing, because we're listening to the song and are used to the Racionais style, but it's confusing to all foreigners since you're reading and not used to the Racionais style. A lot of Racionais songs works kinda literature, written mostly in the first person, but intertwined whit other points of view and flashbacks. To be honest, even to us, portuguese speaker, wouldn't be possible to get it all on the first listening of most of the Racionais songs.

At the beginning of the song there is a dialogue between Mano Brown, the rapper, and a friend who tells about a conversation he had while smoking with other people. He tells Mano Brown that a rich guy who was in the conversation spoke badly of him, saying that he only cared about his money and didn't care about the people from the neighborhood. The subtitles may be a bit confusing, but it's basically a dialogue between him and a friend who tells stories from the neighborhood.

Another relevant thing. Mano Brown is some what a character, played by the raper Pedro Paulo Soares Pereira, he is kind of an "avatar" of the ghetto, a voice of the ghetto, but not a criminal, although he had some problems whit the justice in 2004, which were mostly provoked by a political persecution of his figure as a voice for the poor communities than by his behavior itself. I'm not implying that Brown isn't genuine, he is a storyteller and a playwright, who writes both from his own life experience and from the perspective of someone who witnesses life in the ghetto. A lot of Racionais songs tell about the thug life, but is an error to evaluate their work from any isolated song as an incentive to the thug life. One common theme is the depiction of the thug life as something to avoid for it's consequences, and a trap placed by the system to maintain poor and black people marginalized, in which people fall for lack of better alternatives. In fact, if you analise all the body of work of Racionais, specially in the 90s, you would conclude that their main, and personal, objective was to keep the black youth out of the jail. The depiction of the thug life, in my opinion, is more than anything a tool to create identification with a considerable portion of black male youth in the ghetto, seduced by organized crime. A compelling way of conveying the message that there are alternatives not from a outsiders perspective, but from the perspective of those who you want to save. Side note: man! The effort to give you some context is really stretching the limits of my self learned english, specialy my written english, lol. But I get that understanding the particularities of brazilian cultural history would be hard just by googling it. I hope that you at least read this comments and find then helpful.

this song is tricky, the two ppl talking on thr phone. Guina it's a artist here that "brown" the lead singer loves it. The guy in the history have money but it's envy of brown fame, and speeks of him as phony. The mom part it's like his mom saying that the black ppl wont care for his merssage and he must do another thing, he says that he won't sell himself for like a hit and lose his message bc his mother made him a man and not a whore. The theme of this song is bad vibes, traitors and sad states that some times we get, but he talks that if even jesus cried so can do too. No death sentece in brazil but you will be shot, metaphor.
