Labour activist Paul Mason and Julia Hartley-Brewer react to election results, discussing the impact of Brexit on working-class voters and allegations of what Nigel Farage had said about Muslims.
Nigel Farage’s Reform UK is set to win 13 seats, according to the exit poll and has polled ahead of the Conservatives in the first two declared counts.
The party, which was only formed in 2018, currently only has one MP, Lee Anderson, who defected from the Conservatives.
It would be the first time Reform have managed to secure an MP at the ballot box.

With my profits my domestic business has taken on an apprentice, and I can give my knowledge to troubled kids. Not possible before Brexit as wages had stagnated for 30yrs, and I was unable to increase prices so I could invest in my business and community. Brexit has been bad for some, but not for all, unless you think skilled tradesman should be in a race to the bottom? I voted for Brexit because I hoped the Labour vacuum would enable me and my fellow tradesman to finally get the prices that profit my business and my community. So a young local lad who couldn’t get a job in a coffee shop because of the plethora of uni graduates, has a job and a skill that will give him independence and work for life after the 7 year apprenticeship. He will be able to put money aside straightaway for a deposit because he isn’t hobbled by debt, and the skills he learns will let him buy the cheaper houses that require work, that the uni grads who can tell us there are infinite genders but can’t hang a door, or rewire a house. I’ve expanded my first business, and have started another based on my skills which allows me to build things and attract business partners who have other skills to share, and buy in with money so my time over many evenings and weekends is paid for and then some. Kids in the 10-15 age who are getting into trouble, can learn skills and see that even if you break the law you can turn it around with a skill in demand. It might be a disaster for some but not all.
