Thanks for the talk Meng Foon. You’re an inspiring role model for New Zealanders from ethnic minority backgrounds. You also inspire those who are bilingual and multilingual.

Churr to our maori wahine News from the Rotorua Daily Post: "Child, 2, dies after Rotorua driveway accident, family member steals from doctor trying to save child's life." As hospital staff tried to save the life of a 2-year-old boy run over in a Rotorua driveway, a family member swiped a doctor's two phones and a bank card and went on a spending spree. The child died a short time later but Melissa Herewini (A MAORI) had already taken the bank card to four stores in Rotorua and bought alcohol, food, petrol, phone credit and cigarettes.

I lived in NZ for 10 years, although I met so many good people, I gotta say that according to my life experience there white kiwis can be very racists esp against Asian people. Something even shocks me is the most of the Asian kiwis (aka bananas) I met can be so rude to the Asian people coming from China or any Asian countries.

If Maori casually converse in teReo then we can HEAR it and I think “hey I’m missing out, go buy a Maori dictionary sit down learn it, no harder than any other language And correction Mr Foon “Aotearoa “ was coined well after “NZ”

Air bnb made offensive comment about Maori, since when is offending come under race relations, ??Unless he violates some rule of bnb , he has every right to say what he did.

Just a thought. Much of the true racism comes from those who speak against racism.@@mjanny6330

Air Bnb is an American company, not a small irrelevant white kiwi boomer owned company, they actually have standards to uphold

Tena Koe Meng Foon I believe he was the first Mayor to speak Te Reo Māori in NZ, Gisborne is predominantly Māori, and was Mayor of Gisborne for 18 years, 2001 to 2019. Since August 2019, he has been New Zealand's race relations commissioner.
