We moved to Florida 3 years ago . We are in a really nice area so before we got use to the area my husband wouldn’t take walks around the neighborhood without me. He was afraid because he didn’t want people to get scared and see him as a threat. So he would wait on me to go with him. But I can say so far that our neighborhood is filled with nothing but amazing people. Besides the black Karen that lives next door. But it was very scary at first because you see so many stories online about Florida. But I pray to God that this doesn’t happen to me,my husband or the kids. But I just found you page I love it.

Forgive me, but what Dave Ramsey teaches is not garbage. It's been proven effective, time and again. I've used it in my own life and I'd recommend it to anyone. When he speaks of saving, what' he's referring to is investing in your workplace retirement plan, or investing in 4 types of mutual funds. Not just socking money away in a savings account. His method is a way to get out of debt and save/invest for the future. Again, I recommend it to anyone.

Apparently the guy who killed the people in Duval obviously from another state before moving to Clay county which is in the same percenity as Duval . I walked into a Grimaldi pizza in Sandestin a few months ago. My family of 5 are not white, but 3 of us are light skinned and 2 are 2 shades darker. Blaming the race issue (that’s ALWAYS been prevalent to Florida and other parts of the south) feels cheap. The reality especially for Florida is that it has a lot of transplants who move further south to get away from people of color (mostly) black people found more in the north were the populations are more diverse. It’s called the great flight, has been happening literally happening for generations. The idea is the farther south you go, the further you get from blacks. But a place like Florida also has a lot of immigrants from Cuba, high hispanic population, which makes sense given Florida’s history. A lot of Florida’s racist population come to Florida to escape the diversities of northern states (like Arizona) and bring their racist ideologies. The other portion, are usually poor whites who drink the Republican narrative that minorities on welfare are why they can’t find good paying jobs…when really it’s the greedy republicans who shoot down any piece of legislation that looks to help the common man. Many people in ritual parts of the south wouldn’t even half Heath insurance if Republicans had their way because they didn’t want to approve of those sort of social programs. One click on the news and you can see how much dessntis embodies this.

My husband and I are in the military I grew up in Florida (Sanford). We moved back in 2017 after I left the Navy to Oviedo then he went active duty and we were in Texas for four years. We bought a house in Central Florida and the shift since Desantis has taken over is absolutely terrifying. Central Florida was nothing like the rural areas in Florida and now we have Nazi’s marching at Cranes Roost and outside of Disney. This state has gotten progressively more hostile for POC and it is soooo disheartening. The Republicans gerrymandering our maps and actively removing democraticly elected officials is a huge warning that we are headed down a dangerous, dangerous road in the state of Florida. I never knew it could get worse then Rick Scott.
