Honestly, I’ve worked in places with managers like Gary, and it’s draining. Jamal deserves so much credit for standing his ground and staying professional. That reveal at the end, though-so satisfying

Thank you for exposing injustice, your stories are much Needed and true to the reality that black people and other people of color face everyday. I unfortunately have had many experiences with racism all my life, your stories give people like us a voice. Will this change these people who practice this hate, some but many will die hating people based on the color of their skin rather than change their behavior this is a sad fact.

Your post really struck home with me. My mother was extremely racist and sadly she met Jesus Christ who created the human race with that prejudice in her heart. When anyone confronted her with this, her stock response was: "That is the way I was raised." My dad was not at all racist and he told her before they married she better not pass that prejudice on to their children. And she did not pass it on to us.

Thank you for shedding light on this important issue. Stories like these are crucial for raising awareness about the injustices that Black employees and other people of color face daily. I, too, have encountered racism throughout my life, and it's reassuring to see that our experiences are being acknowledged and validated. While some individuals may never change their prejudiced behaviors, sharing these stories gives a voice to those who have been marginalized and helps pave the way for a more inclusive future. It's disheartening, but we must continue to speak out against hate and discrimination.

Thank you for speaking out against injustice. Your stories are incredibly important and truthfully reflect the daily realities faced by Black people and other communities of color. Sadly, I have faced racism throughout my life, and your stories give a voice to people like me. Can they change the minds of those who harbor hatred? Some might change, but many will carry their prejudice to the grave. It’s a bitter truth, but an undeniable reality.

The story is beautiful and really inspiring. However, it's important to recognize that stories don't need to be centered around color to be meaningful. We are all humans, regardless of our race, ethnicity, gender, or socioeconomic status. What we all deserve is mutual respect and understanding. @i'm Asian/Filipino

An all too familiar story, I’m afraid, for our Black brothers and sisters, although usually not with a happy ending like this. I am sad, though, that the story couldn’t have also spoken to the virtue of forgiveness. That is not to blame victims for not forgiving, rather that David, the CEO, could not accept Gary’s words of repentance and been willing to write a letter of reference for him. David could have written about Gary‘s work performance in the company and that he thought Gary has learned his lesson and deserved a second chance.
