Things like this happen way too often. My paternal side of the family believed that Ukrainians should only marry Ukrainians. My mother's side of the family did not think that way, considering that they were Italian. When my parents met, dated, and married, things did not go as easily. My paternal grandfather did not think anything of it; but my paternal grandmother felt way too strong about her feelings and would continuously insinuate that my father made a mistake. This was true of both my uncles until one of them got divorced. Before my paternal grandmother died, she called to say goodbye and that she was sorry for the way she she treated her. It was our family's version of "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" with the difference that Gus took a while to accept the fact that Toula's husband was not Greek. So, if you have any rifts between families in this regard, now is the best time to patch it up.

No matter how prejudiced the person is. they can always change. but if they refuse the change, that's on them. Then you're missing out of what could be. having prejudice against anyone is wrong. You might disagree with the choices that they make. but never involved skin color into this. You never, ever. and that mother thought it was 1950 something people talked like that back in the days of segregation. That African Americans couldn't do this. They couldn't do that. They couldn't do this. Here's how I look at it. No matter where we come from or what race we are We are made in the image of the Almighty God. We bleed the same blood. I'm not prejudice by any means against anyone's skin tone. But I'm very prejudiced against people that aren't handicapped like I am. because of what they did to me when I was younger. I was mistreated. thrown out like an old shoe. And nobody wanted me. And for many years. I've been thinking non handicapped people were bad. like they were ravenous dogs. waiting to devour an innocent handicap person. But I'm trying to change my ways. And I have learned from an early age. Not all people are good. But when I was older, when I. learned that not all people that aren't handicapped are bad. It's just that simple it. depends how you are brought up. Prejudice And discrimination, no matter what form it takes. It is wrong. but I'm learning to change my ways about non handicap people. And how beneficial they can be to a handicapped person's success in life. And they want to help you. Sure, there's one percent. of people that are bad in every grouping. that doesn't mean the 99.9% are bad You cannot take 1% of a group and group them together with the 99.9% and call them bad because you had trouble. I dealt with people that were bad none. Handicaps that mistreated me doesn't mean 99.9% are bad Is that only one percent 99.9% of non-handicap people are good people You cannot be making judgments because of? your trauma. And because you had it bad. or because that's the way you grew up. It's always important. to treat people the way you want to be treated. If you treat people like garbage, they will treat you like garbage. If you treat people with respect and kindness. expect that in return. Whatever you do on the others. Others will do on to you.

I hope that people of color watching this know that many Caucasian people are not racist like this, including myself. I have been in interracial relationships as a White woman & see absolutely nothing wrong with it. I also have beautiful multiracial children. Never judge based on color. It's ignorance!😢 I love how both her husband & his Mother put her in her place. It's extremely foolish to think all black people aren't educated or wealthy, of course they can be, no different than any other race.
