She didn't doctor anything, she didn't make stuff up, she just played recordings that were edited down to showcase the terrible things being done. As for the OP's husband being upset, it makes sense he'd be upset, given he is used to being the victim and in his mind fighting back is worse than just ignoring it and letting a racist be racist. People who say that OP went too far don't understand that one way or another, a person's true character will come to light. So even if OP did nothing to sabotage her sister's career, the sister was going to get caught one way or another. Imagine if the sister had stayed in her new job position; she was going to slip up one way or another that would call her out as a hypocrite and a liar. And let's not forget what happenes when a person with ill intentions has a managerial-type job position; they can, and have, reached out to unsavory people will do absolutely any type of favor just for money. So imagine if she upset the wrong people; she would've ended up in a much worse situation than she is now (like jail time, or even killed). Here's the thing, that's not OP doing anything TO them. You didn't use telekinesis to force them to do whatever they've done. She wasn't fired because OP made or presented a video; she was fired for HAVING and vocalizing her very strongly held, hateful discriminatory beliefs, for subjecting others of different races and abilities to abuse and ridicule; all of which demonstrate character traits [defects] that are in direct opposition of not only the companies values, but also the vast majority of societies'. If she had been well behaved in the videos, wasn't consistently being a hateful, racist, ableist, repulsive human being; they would've just been videos, and she'd still have a job. I promise the termination letter doesn't say the word "video", or mention OP anywhere on it. You're accountable for the actions you yourself take, the things you yourself say, and the impact you yourself have. Those words and actions are the fault of NEITHER those who hold you accountable, NOR the people who call you out. Again, OP is not responsible for how the boss, fiance, or anyone else reacted to witnessing the sister on screen being her honest self. They weren't upset by a large video projection appearing on the wall, they weren't upset about the sister having been recorded; they were upset by the content of those recordings, and what it exposed about the character of woman they were either working with, or about to marry. It wasn't staged. The comments made by the sister were of her own volition, and were received by her peers in exactly the context they were intended by their speaker. It's s not OPs fault if they were so repulsed by those comments they were moved to disavow the sister. They're adults with their own reputations and values to protect, allowed to conduct their lives as they see fit, according to what they see and learn. They're allowed to change their opinion of a person after witnessing them do or say something that doesn't align with said values. The sister chose how she wanted to represent herself, at all times. She was always free to reflect and adjust course to be a better person, OP have her multiple opportunities to do exactly that. And they're part the point of blaming a poor upbringing. Seeing as how OP is not the sentient pile of congealed dumpster juice that her sister is, it's safe to say their parents inability to be or raise decent human beings is no longer a valid excuse for the sisters personality, if it ever was. OP figured out morality, the sister works for a damn charity and still spat slurs like she's never heard of ethics. OP didn't do that, the sister did, and that's what she was fired for. She ruined her own life by being a festering pile of dog shit. Stop blaming others for calling you out, and instead focus on not giving anyone any reason or desire to. Want respect? Be respectable. Don't like negative consequences? Don't do fucked up shit. It's really that simple.

One of the notable things was how other employees came forward to say Lindsey made inappropriate remarks passed off as "jokes" and got away with it at work. So OP saved them from having to put up with her even more and possibly discriminating against employees once she had a position of power. You get back what you put out into the world especially when children with disabilities are involved, that's how karma works it's magic.

The first comment you had on here has obviously never been bullied if he thinks after the sisters remarks for years she is going to change he is an idiot. As for the comment that God will forgive her, well he may but that doesn't mean OP should. This is her son she is protecting. In fact not only her son but apparently others also. If the sister is this racist and bulling with her own nephew how bad it must be for others

OP, I'd've instantly gone NC with the toxic parents and sister after your parents voiced their opinions about your intended partner.

The person makes no sense when saying that being racist is not cool but ruining your successful sister is wrong. It is like saying it is OK to be racist if you are rich.

I don't have words for the sister. All I know is is that she will go to a warmer climate in the afterlife

I truly understand your pain and frustration. Yes she needs to be responsible. And parents really don't care and can make it worst. I know.

Yeah, they're probably one of those idiots who think talking it out with bullies makes instant peace or claims "Bigotry goes both ways"

The OP in this story is an absolute idiot for letting her racist family be near her and her family. The moment her family said racists stuff about her husband, is the moment she should have gone no contact.

I’m glad OP exposed her sis and parents. She tired to talk and be civil and gave multiple chances for them to change.

The sister got off light?! What more do you think she deserves?! She's 33 having to start a new career after losing everything!

I would have presented directly to her boss and fiance rather than before the larger group but, perhaps it would not have worked as well. On your comment that she can move to a new city, with social media being what it is, I don't think it will be as easy for her to fly under the radar. Also, given her toxicity, she may not be able to hold that back when she finds an audience.

I think bringing racism to light is a good idea. If she is working in an industry where they help for charity then she deserves what she gets

OP said that this story went viral regarding her sister's embarrassment. Has anyone figured out who it was and did they find the video? I'm curious about it.

Some people have never been on the receiving end of prejudice, so those that expect you to be better than their enemies, when you are on the end of the same, follow your own advice For OP do what you must to protect your son's mental health. That crap is unnecessary and ignorant. If they're giving you their support then let it be suppport.❤

I agree. They can't relate to her son and they lack empathy. I have people who tell you to be the bigger person when you defend yourself.
